The Neopets Plague by kiwi_kitsune

I have played Neopets since it came out, that’s a long time. The beginning, it was clean. With laughing children and gumdrop rivers. So what happened to the tranquility?

It all burned down.

Google, free cursors, college funds, we salute you. No really. You tore down Neopets, spat on it, lit it on fire and laughed in twisted delight as the whole thing just became a tangled mess. Only the greatest in corporate sell-outs can achieve that much. So far, I have seen ads for free cursors (Including one of a cigarette), Canada, Orbitz, colleges, dating sites, ring tones, great deals on Neopets, and the rest goes on. I’m sure the numerous 9 year olds would love to travel to Canada with Orbitz. And ya know, that cigarette cursor? I think it’ll look great on my shop front, ya? Dating sites, studies show that dating sites have a high chance of ending in a mess. In other words, bitter failure.

Defending Neopets: A Counter Argument Against the Article in Australia

There was a completely slanderous and false article released about Neopets in Australia, and also on the news. The reporters did not even check out the site, since they would clearly see that what they were about to write was in error. Another article from Pink Poog Toy points out the errors in the article.

The number of javascript scripts targeting Internet Explorer, several people who are unable to switch browsers have turned off javascript. You cannot access any items (so you can’t feed or play with your pet via items). Only a few games are inaccessible. Those who have disabled javascript should look into visiting the Soup Kitchen, which lets users feed their pets for free if they have under 3,000 Neopoints. Not that it really matters if you can buy items in the main shops, since getting anything of profit is insanely hard. Good item stocking shops can have over 65 people in them trying to buy items at any time, even with the random restocks.

When Neopets Is Down by princess_night52

You sit yourself comfortably in the computer chair, humming to yourself a happy tune. Todays the day when you have the computer all to yourself! You type in the address of the website and you get to see the homepage. New event! Somebody has just neomailed you. You move your cursor and click to read the whole message. Woah! Neopets is down! You refresh and refresh so many times that you go beserk, but youre still stuck at that hated page.

How long do I wait when something disastrous like this happens?

It depends. Look at the page and check. Is it the one that says you have to wait for (?) minutes/hours? Or is it the one that says Neopets Is Temporarily Unavailable? If its the first one, then wait for that time limit. If its the second one, lets try 30 minutes then. You can lengthen the time if you want, because theres no guarantee that Neopets can work within 30 minutes.

Neopets Back in my Day by Freddy Headness

You know how when you go over to an older relative’s house, and they reminisce about the “good old days”? Well, older Neopians can do the same, only in this case, “old” would be about three or four years old. A person is able to go to the neoboards and see the current issues Neopia is experiencing plots, avatars, new ideas, etc.

Well, back in my day, Neopia was much different. There was no such thing as Roo Island, Kiko Lake, or even the Deserted Fairground. Neopia was much smaller back then. The founding of Meridell was a huge deal. The Neoboards were abuzz with talk of a medieval world. Could it be possible? The Neopets team made a medieval world! What will the pets look like? Will a paint brush come with it? Those were all the topics concerning Meridell. Then came the war. Everyone on the boards had chosen a side, Darigan or Meridell. We all know how the war ended. Meridell won, and Lord Darigan had been vanquished. And yes, this was before the second Meridell war soon after with Lord Kass.

Give Your Common Neopet a Chance by Cameron

In a growing trend that has been around since the early days of Neopia, we seem to have lost our memories or experiences of our very first neopet.

You know? The ones we created, The ones we named, The ones we just knew were the ‘coolest’. Needless to say these pets were probably among the most common.

Of course in life we are always left wanting more, this time fueled by the beautiful, elite and stronger looking neopets badged ‘limited edition’ and ‘restricted’. At the time we weren’t even really sure what this meant, We did know, however that we had to get our hands on them.
