Trading Post Hysteria by Ania

Trading? There are a few simple things to know.

First off, I dont mean to start this article sounding like some heartless person. I understand that its hard to earn neopoints, that playing the same games gets boring, and that those paintbrushes are REALLY expensive but theres a few basic things that you shouldnt do when youre on Neopets.

One of my first pieces of advice is that it that reposting a message saying TYPETHISMESSAGEINTENOF YOURTRADESANDGO2FAERIELANDANDYOU WILLFIND2000000NEOPOINTSAND AVERYRAREPAINTBRUSHTHISHASBEEN APPROVEDBYNEOPETS is completely pointless and a waste of your time. I was at the Trading Post and I saw so many of these messages. Ive been guilty of that, I admit it. In my newbie days, I was really nave. But reposting messages like that will never get you anything but reported by people who are sick of seeing spam all over Neopets.

Auction and Trade Help by xxtinkrebellaxx

The first thing you need to know about auctions and trades is: ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE LOWEST DEAL. It may seem obvious, but sometimes the right trade slips right by, so keep your eyes open!!!

To go to auctions now. The best way to bid on an auction is to bid on a “ghost auction”. These auctions have 5 or less bids every hour. Personally, I bid ONLY when the amount of time left in the auction is <30 minutes because you have a better chance of getting it then.

If you are the one MAKING the auction, here are some helpful hints. First of all, make sure you check the auctions BEFORE you make it, so you can set the first price lower than all of the other prices. make the minimum increment at most 3% of the original price. In other words, if the item you are auctioning is 800 neopoints, make sure you make the minimum increment under 100 neopoints.

Jobs by Christina

I’ve been doing a lot of jobs and made a lot of np from it. because of this, now I know what jobs to go for and what jobs to stay away from. Take these points into consideration:

~Don’t go for jobs that are games * unless your REALLY good at it*, cards, or books that look odd or are new releases *usually these are expensive and the reward isn’t worth it*
~ Choose a timing with 15 minutes minimum because then your less likely to fail it and if u finish it quickly, you’ll get a bigger bonus
~ Choose a job that rewards you with about 1000 or more *that u know u won’t loose np*, if your the type that’s really going for np

Restocking For the New by Darkness_mn

Note that this guide and recommended items to buy are suggested at the time of writing (May 2005). First, if you want to restock, you MUST have patience. I won’t talk about anything else now so here goes:

1 – 50,000 neopoints:
If you have about 10,000 or lower, I suggest you play more games than restock or you can restock at the Igloo Garage Sale or some cheap items at the Food Shop (Spooky is good). If you have 10,001+ neopoints, restock at the Spooky Food Shop. Restock Pickled Eyeballs, Baked Intesteen, Lime Gummy Rat, Snorkle Snout, ANY ice cream, Vanilla Ghost Cake, Spooky Lime Pudding, Ghost Pancake, Tongue Wrap, Cress and Cheese Ghostkersandwich, and Devilish Cake. The most often seen is Baked Intesteen. Have two windows open at a time, one Spooky, one at the Food Shop. That way you can know when the Spooky restocks AND you can restock at the Food Shop too! Get neggs! More and more neggs! I have seen Stormy Neggs, Lemon Swirly Neggs, and others.

10 Steps to Getting Rich on the Trade Boards by druid_in_bear

SaleFirst I would like to say, this is not a get rich quick scheme. It is going to take a lot of time to do, but it works.

Some weeks you may only earn 100k, but some you may earn a few million. Also, if you don’t already have some money to work with, I would continue to play games until you have enough to buy/sell things worth more than 100,000 neopoints.

Now on with the guide.

  1. BUY LOW SELL HIGH – This is obvious. but also, when you’re haggling, always start WAY, WAY low, the worst a person could do is say, “no higher”, the best they could do is accept. Same when selling, start fairly high, people will most likely haggle it down (unless your lucky) but that will happen even if you offer a fair price.
