A Tour of Some of Neopets’ Worlds Part 2

The Haunted Woods is a perpetual Halloween-type forest. Here lies the Brain Tree, who demands knowledge of when people died. It’s completely random and can’t be unlocked if you just type in numbers. Instead, you have to go to the other boogie-man of the Haunted Woods, the Esophager.

He demands spooky food in exchange for answers. It used to be you could only get the foods from Edna’s quest (who asks for random items to complete her spells), but now there is a food store that sells them. Of course, the Brain Tree’s quests are rarely worth the price you’ll pay. Stuck in the middle of the Haunted Woods, there is the castle of Eliv Thade (an “anagram” for Evil Death), where you must unjumble letters to produce the word needed to move around his castle.

There is a haunted house game there as well. Fetch is a game where you, as a Mutant Blumaroo, must go search for items in a maze. The catch is, you only have a limited amount of spaces to move. Of course, not all games on Neopets stay there forever, so the game graveyard has it’s fitting place in the haunted woods. A Halloween Cybunny runs the Spooky Petpet shop, which restocks spooky-type petpets.

You can also print out some coloring pages, or Halloween masks. There is the stone arena as well, and a place to view the Halloween painted pets. The last thing on the main map is Magax: Destroyer. This game is in the running for “Best Game Music On Neopets”. Of course, none of the games really have that great of music, but still. Moving on to the deserted fair ground..

The deserted fair ground houses things of a more dead nature, compared to the main map. There is a place to view the ghost pets, buy spooky furniture or food, or weaponry. You can also buy a spooky scratchcard every 12 hours, and try your luck with them. There is the game Haunted Carnival, where you launch pies at robotic Chias. You can also Test Your Strength in the rigged game by the same name. You can also spin the Wheel of Misfortune, but positive results are rare (just look at the name).

Neopets also has a space station, once-home of Dr. Sloth, which is Neopet’s Main Villain they pull out when they can’t think of another plot. However he doesn’t seem to be active here anymore so you can gleefully poke around the ship. If you have bought merchandise and received a rare item code, you can redeem them at Grundo’s Warehouse. Also, this is the only place to get Grundos, so if you wanted one in the adoption centre but saw they were restricted, this is the place to adopt them. There are also space weapons and space defense items, and space petpets (robotic type). You can also buy food at Grundo’s Café. There is the space arena as well, but like all the others, do not do anything more then the normal arena at the battledome. The game spell-or-starve also resides here, and so does splat-a-sloth, where you attempt to smack a sock that looks like Sloth with a newspaper. Then, of course, is Gormball. It is basically hot potatoes.

Neopets also has a Moon called Kreludor. It’s pretty new, and doesn’t have much. Theres a furniture shop, a food shop, a vending machine, and a mineing corporation.

In the coldest regions of Neopia is Happy Valley. Here you can buy wintery petpets, slushies, and participate in Grundo’s Snow Throw, or Snow wars (battle ship). You can also print out gift tags, and see what pets painted Christmas look like. Next is the ice caves. There is an ice arena here, as well as a Wintery Scratchcard Kiosk. The Neggery lets you trade in your old, boring neggs for brand new ones that you can only get there. The Ice Crystals shop sells snow and ice based weapons. The Snowager, a huge worm, guards over it’s treasure it has collected. Occasionally it sleeps and if you are brave enough, you can wait until it goes to sleep and try and steal some treasure. At the top of the mountain is the Snow Faerie, who gives out quests. You can play Cliffhanger (hangman) here as well. There is also a garage sale going on always, run by two chias, as well as a game based on them. There are some wintery coloring pages, and you can buy some snow food as well.

The warmest regions of Neopia is home to the Lost Desert, which has such things as a Fruit Machine and a Shrine. At Coltzan’s shrine, every 12 hours, you have a chance for his spirit to grant your neopet stats, money or NP, you’ll mostly get nothing though. Like Neopia’s other worlds, the Desert has furniture for your NeoHome, many games like Sutek’s tomb, Pyramids, Swarm, Tug ‘O’ War, Geos and Scarab 21.There’s even a nifty little calculator you can use,but you need Shockwave to use it. At the palace is Usurper,which ended years ago,so there’s nothing to do there. Same with Brucey’s war tent. The desert also sells exotic petpets and scrolls in different tents. There’s also a tent that shows you all the pets that can be painted Desert, so the desert isn’t forgotten even when you leave it. – Anonymous
