Hey, it me. By just reading this you might be expecting something about scammers taking accounts and items. Here’s the reality of it though. Look how many people put guides here, then look at how many users there are on Neopets. Quite a difference, huh? Yeah, there are scammers. Yeah, there are cookie grabbers. Yet, I have only been scammed once, and have been playing for about 5 years. We all pretty much have what I call “Scammer Paranoia”.

Here’s the deal. You log onto Neopets. You notice a neomail sitting in your inbox. It reads, ” Dear soandso, this is Neopets staff coming to inform you that are server might crash due to a severe storm in the area. All accounts may be lost! Please send us your password so that we may activate the save function in your account.

1. Definitions

Scammer: A person who swindles you by means of deception or fraud.

Hacker: One who uses programming skills to gain illegal access to a computer network or file.

Computer Program: A series of instructions that a computer can interpret and execute; programs are also called software to distinguish them from hardware, the physical equipment used in data processing. These programming instructions cause the computer to perform arithmetic and logical operations or comparisons (and then take some additional action based on the comparison) or to input or output data in a desired sequence. Learn From a Scammer by Anonymous

So you want to make quick neopoints? Like ultra quick neopoints? Enough to buy you a rare paintbrush within a short amount of time? Or perhaps you want to get all the pieces to the lab map? Well, how about learning from a scammer? Sure, that sounds good, but I think I shall give you a little warning first. Scamming can and will 99% of the time get your account frozen. I lost an account that had almost 10 million in it because of scamming. And I am in no way encouraging you to scam people, I am simply here to tell you the life of Neopets from a scammer’s point of view.

Accounts: How Easy it is to Lose Them by Rachael

I am Rachel. aka rachelsyuker, or hooraybait5522, or o0rachelsyuker0o, or, well, you get the point. I have had over 20 accounts. I lost them all through some way or another, and none because they were frozen. I want to tell everyone how easy it is to just lose your account. It can happen in the wink of an eye, for many reasons or for no reason at all.

here are some obvious ways to lose your account that you can lookout for:

FAKE LOGIN PAGE

You click on a link in a shop, maybe a fake item or something. Suddenly, you see a neopets login page. You enter your neopets username and password, and get sent back to the site instantly. but in reality, you fell for a simple scam placed by a simple minded scammer.

Don’t we all just hate those scammers? Don’t we want to rip their heads off and stuff it in the garbage can (sorry about “graphic” description ;)? Well, my friends, one of my friends who played Neopets was a scammer, and got frozen like water in the tundra. While watching him play, I learned the tactics of a scammer and how they really work. Scammers strategies are so basic, I enjoy thinking of ways to make fun of them. How to insult them in instant messenger. How to take glory as they look in your account and discover absolutely nothing because you are nothing but a newbie, and suddenly they freeze and cry to their mommies.
