Before I started my Neopets account, all my friends were saying that it was a very boring site. I however being the only one of my friends whom had never tried neopets, I decided to give it a shot.
I created my Neopets account and created my first neopet. Then I slowly started to really enjoy the site, exploring around the world of Neopia, playing games, winning neopoints – which is now one of my obsessions. Because of that i decided to win even more neopoints by creating my shop.
Then one day when i logged on, And went to pets central, and scrolled down, I saw the Neopian adoption agency link. I clicked it and when I saw what it was i decided to get three more adopted neopets.
With more neopets, I decided to create a neohome for them. I started going to the Underwater fishing cavern, and trying to raise up their fishing skill.I tried to get them the very best stuff. I was so obsessed with winning neopoints for them, that I became selfish. I just wanted to save up my neopoints, whenever they were hungry I would just get a free omelette, and jelly and feed that to them. Sometimes I just got the omelette, and the jelly and put it in my safety deposit box.
I was even thinking of putting one of my neopets in the pound because I didn’t like him anymore. That’s when the trouble started. Three of my neopets got neomonia. I didn’t know what this sickness was, and when I found out I was prepared to give all my neopoints to buy the medicinal soaps. I also decided to but them a better neohome, I demolished the old one in Neopia Central and created one in Faerie Land.
Also – most importantly I decided not to put that neopet in the pound, but improve their fishing skill until I get one of those mysterious swirly potions, which will change my neopet into a different neopet.
I still play games and win neopoints but this taught me an important lesson: Money (in this case neopoints) isn’t everything. You should be thankful for what you have, and appreciate, because at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is that you are healthy, your friends are healthy, your pets are healthy, and your family is healthy. It matters not that you are the richest person in the world, or the poorest; you will always be happy if you have people that care for you and whom give the one thing that makes everyone happy. – Lina
