Nalanatinadala’s Memoir by nalanatinadala

Though my friends tried to convince me other wise, saying Neopets was a boring site, I created an account and wanted to try out the site.

I started exploring the site and began to really enjoy myself. I decided to get really involved with the community, exploring the world of Neopia, playing games and eventually creating a shop, leading to my obsession with earning Neopoints! After a few mishaps with random events, I learned to store all my neopoints into my bank account and all my items into my safety deposit box, eventually installing the PIN number on full security to insure my hard work wouldn’t go to waste.

Who Are You and Why Should we Care by moonseedtwayblade

If you look up my account on Neopets, moonseedtwayblade, at the time of writing this the cute little plaque with the Flotsam on it will tell you that Ive been a member for one week. This is not entirely accurate. The account, yes, is about one week old (actually, now I think its over a week old), but I have been a member of Neopia for much longer than a week. To explain, its probably best that I start from the beginning.

I believe it was about five or six years ago that I first discovered the wonderful world of Neopets. At that time, Terror Mountain was freshly discovered and the Grarrl had just gone through a makeover, as I recall it anyway (and my memory is rather fuzzy). The site had come up as a pop-up ad. I thought it was cute. I joined, and I adopted a few pets, and I played for a few weeks, maybe a month. I wasnt serious about it, though. Not then.

Stuck in Last Place by Mirriem

I’m sure it’s been said somewhere before. The plight of every newbie, all but penniless, terrible at the games, ignorant of prices and prizes and scams, and disheartened by the fact that it can take months to earn enough for an item another user has 127 duplicates of. But that’s part of the fun, isn’t it? Working your way to the top? What better feeling can there be but the feeling of accomplishment after slogging through game after game, getting better, honing your skills, learning the ins and outs of trading and selling and auctioning, and finally realizing that you can afford those items you so cherish?

Are Neopians Less Patient? by TwistedFaerie

Once upon a time Neopets didn’t have that many features. There was no battledome, no storylines, a dozen games. What you did was feed your pet, play a game or two and then chat it up in the chat rooms that were placed throughout the shops.

I remember when the Battledome first was supposed to come out. It came out six months late. Sure we complained here and there but all and all we were just excited to be getting a new feature.

Now if Neopets are late we scream and cry and send numerous complaints on how they’re not being responsible. But do they really owe us anything at all for they’re free service? Do we really have the right to demand the things we get?

“Neopets Has Always Been and Will Always be a Free Site!” by CatWhisper1

“Neopets has always been and will always be a free site!”

Those words always make me think of a sign that says “Free Kittens”. At first, you tend to think it’s a great thing and why wouldn’t you think so. Free is always good, or so we’ve been led to believe. I’d like to share some analogies and facts about free things that may help you to realize that while it’s a noble thing to keep Neopets free, it may not necessarily be in the best interest of the Neopets team nor Neopians in general. Please take a moment and consider the following information and see if you draw the same conclusions I did.
