Ways To Save Your Neopoints by Einstein_006

After reading more than a dozen get rich schemes, and having written a guide to making neopoints, I realized that these guides just happened to leave out the part of how not to spend all those neopoints the minute you get them ;). Whenever I get a hold of 10, 000+ neopoints, I spend it on my gallery, or on a new get rich scheme I’m working on. However, I save HALF of it and put it into my bank account. Wow, who would’ve thought of that? But I’m here to tell you ways to do things, like get a rare/limited edition neopet, in an INEXPENSIVE way.

I want a paint brush! A rainbow one too! How am I going to get that cheap?

How about, you’re not? Heh, sorry to say, but paint brushes are something that even I haven’t figured out an easy way to get. But, there is a way to save some money on them. How? Well, no matter what, unless you are ADDICTED (7+ hours daily) to the battledome, the laboratory ray IS NOT AN OPTION! You may not have painted your pet yet, but what if your pet changes from a boy to a girl or vice-versa? You’ll probably want to change back. But if you paint your pet before the laboratory ray changes you back to your original gender, then you run the risk of your pet getting painted a different color! So, if you paint your pet while you still need to use the lab ray, you are SO DEAD. Heh.

There are also inexpensive ways to paint your pets. This isn’t exactly “painting” your pet, but it’s close. Say you have a pteri whom you want to paint blue. A blue paint brush costs 4000 NP. However, the blue pteri morphing potion only costs 1000 NP. So if you bought the potion and gave it to your pteri, then your pteri would become blue for 1000 NP! But, usually, the morphing potion costs MUCH more than the actual paint brush (take the red skeith morphing potion for example; it’s an unbuyable).

I want a Chomby! I want a rare neopet!

Are you going to search around for a chomby, or even BUY one off of someone? Are you going to spend some time at the adoption agency, waiting around for a chomby to show up? Are you going to spend some cash getting a pteri morphing potion? I think not. Well, unless you read on.

Pteris, Chombies, and Meercas have to be the EASIEST neopets to change to. You can just win them from the games! Of course, as I’ve said before, I’m horrible at all the games and my high score of Meerca Chase is a puny 615. But, if you are good at Pteri Attack, Meerca Chase, or Chomby and the Fungus Balls, you have the chance for a) getting a rare magical golden pteri/meerca chomby b) getting a magical chomby/meerca/pteri plushie c) getting so good at that particular game that you get 3 magical plushies daily to sell!

Transmogrification potions are also an easy way to get neopets. Yes, you could always make a new pet, but would you either get another pet to take care of, or have to disown your first (and trained) neopet? Some transmogrification potions are as cheap as 1000 NP! An easy way to change your neopet instead of getting a new one and getting rid of your old one, eh?

I know this is going to work! I have to try it! And I have just enough Neopoints to do it!

This is talking about get rich schemes, in which you try money making schemes other people haven’t done. I, personally, come up new and weird strategies constantly, so I rarely have more than 30, 000 NP in the bank. 30, 000 NP!!! Yes, that’s nothing. I could have 150, 000 NP, but my get rich schemes massacre my bank account.

You have to consider the fact that neopets is for fun. Being conservative and not spending neopoints just isn’t fun, for me. I like coming up with weird strategies and watching them flourish. Or watching them kill my bank account ;). Of course, if you do your homework, you’ll have a good idea of how your plan is going to work out. But even days of preparation and thinking it over do not outweigh experience.

If you want to get rich, I suggest not coming up with strange schemes (Like stockpiling rainbow stuff! Boy was that a failure… I lost all of my neopoints!). It’ll save you a lot of frustration and loss of neopoints. But, if you like stockpiling absolutely worthless items (like me), try it! Neopets is for fun, not for getting rich ;). But do not let me sway you; get rich! You won’t be happy with the results of scheming weird get rich schemes unless you, like me, want to spend neopoints and make a gallery of stuff that almost made it into a get rich scheme.

Oh, I just love crushing that Chia Clown! How about I get a grand lightning beam to really teach him…?

How about no? The battledome has to be the biggest WASTE of neopoints for people who haven’t been on neopets longer than 2 months. After the 2 month zone, go ahead, spend as much as you want, you have the experience to know if you’re wasting money or using it wisely. But if your shield in the user look up doesn’t say 2 months or above, then skip the battledome. High class battle dome items (Grand Lightning Beam, Wands of the Faeries, Hidden Tower Items) cost a TON of neopoints. In fact, the cheapest wand of a faerie is the Wand of the Light Faerie, which may be a good start for newbies just hitting the 2 month area. The Grand Lightning beam costs 20, 000 NP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hidden Tower items cost hundreds of thousand of neopoints, or even millions! Wand of the Air Faerie costs something like 150K in the trading post.

Does anyone here want to pay that? *** I raise my hand, the only one in the group *** Okay, anyone BESIDES me? Yeah, I thought so. So, the battledome is fun for people who have played neopets for 2 months or more! Keep that in mind!

Conclusion

I hope you liked my article! I put, I don’t know, 30 minutes into it? Wow, that’s a long time! And it’s my bedtime too! Arghhhh…. My username on neopets is Einstein_006! Drop me a neomail! I love mail ;). If you have any suggestions, comments, or angry thoughts (I get nervous around angry people), drop me a neomail! We could become friends! Or we could become eternal enemies who will hate each for the rest of our lives… I hope that doesn’t happen! Cya! – Einstein_006
