A Question of Morality by bhfrik

During my many hours of game play, I have at times encountered various hackers and scammers, and usually try to interact with them. Following are various explanations I’ve heard for this behavior, and my response to their justifications.

It’s just a game, its not that important so it shouldn’t bother you too much. This is a common response especially when the subject comes up in Neochat. Yes Neopets is ‘just a game’, and in the overall scheme of life it isn’t important. BUT I’ve placed literally thousands of hours into getting where I am. To have that taken by some cheater would be devastating, just from the time loss alone. Its MY time, not yours, and yes I do care about my time. This ‘its just a game’ doesn’t apply to any game I’ve ever heard of anyway. Say a total stranger purposefully tipped over a chess game you were playing on the street. Your reaction would most likely be to not just shrug and say ‘Oh well, it was just a game’ You’d be upset and with every right.

Battledome Strategy 101 – Lesson 7 by Jadeasahi

Lesson 7: Weapon Generators

Weapon Generators are another commonly used family of weapons. These devices essentially generate one use grenades, to be used as described in the Lesson on grenades. Weapons in this family include the Hawk Wand, the Snowglobe Staff, the Tiki Bomb Bag, and the Box of Clockwork Grundos, to name a few. An examination of these four items reveals both the strengths and weaknesses of weapon generators.

Hawk Wand is a weapon which does one of two things: it either generates a Hawk Feather, which is a dismally weak four icon damage output one use grenade, or it blows up and does a LOT of damage to the pet using it. Obviously, this is a horrible weapon generator. Not only does it fail to produce a grenade capable of inflicting any real damage, but it stands a good chance of hurting the pet that uses it.

Dueling Decks Guide by arwen_undomiel1

I made this guide after beating AAA in the Games Master Challenge. I have never played a “dueling” card game before but once you know the strategy, it only takes patience to obtain a high score.

  • Play on the medium setting.
  • If you don’t get a good deck, quit and restart the game.
  • Intelligence goes up to 162, courage goes to 16, and charisma to 15. Practice a bit to recognize which strengths each card has.
  • Try to keep a balance somewhere around 10 wins each. Occasionally, you can go down to 5 wins for yourself and do a run of 5 winning cards but make sure neither you nor your opponent goes below 5 wins each (the little bars near the bottom will show how many wins you each have).

Battledome Strategy 101 – Lesson 3 by Jadeasahi

Lesson 3: Trading Punches

Unless the results of the First Turn Freeze and the After The First Turn Freeze is the death of one of the opponents, battledomers are going to have to trade punches. There are varied schools of thought on the best way to go about this, but these variants generally reduce down to one of two basic approaches to the Battledome.

The first of these is a high damage fast attack capability (which I call the West Coast Offense after an American football strategy). This approach utilizes high damage reusable fast attack weapons, the purpose being to inflict as high an amount of damage as possible, but sacrificing the ability to defend. Weapons commonly used in this approach include the Lost Desert Dagger, Plastic Halloween Fork, Battle Ducks, Zaptwig, Mono Claw, Mystical Fish Lobber, and Faerie Slingshot. There are many other weapons that fit into this style of fighting. Combatants in this fighting style will generally rely heavily on Fierce and Berserk Attack, Heal, and Drain Life.
