Neopets Battledome

The Neopets Battledome has been the home to L33T battlers for years. From well known names such as HROBI and HYNFAERIE, people have made their mark on Neopian history through the battledome. Also a place where Neopets plots are centered around, the Neopets Battledome allows your cute Neopets to wield weapons and attack in aggression while looking super cute and cuddly.

The beginning

Neopets weaponry and armor were rampant in Neopets before the Battledome made an appearance. In actual fact, the Battledome was something that was promised on Neopets for quite some time and it took a number of years (shall we say) before it was finally released to the public.

History, Learn From It by yrdnal_2000

A wise man once said that we need to be aware of history or it will repeat itself. He was talking about wars and other such problems but the same can be said about neopets. I have been on neopets for at least 2 years. I have seen it come from a site with very few things to do to a giant site with millions of players. I wish I would have known what I know now because I could be rich. I wish I would have known that codestones would be worth 3ooo np now. If I had known these things I could have been rich but instead I am only middle class. Yet we need to remember what has happened because it still will happen. It can help us remember things like when neopets says that they will make something that is currently useless like plants do something. The same thing happened with faeries, spells, and codestones. These items used to be as cheap as food. No one believed that the battle dome would ever be finished so they didnt see a point in keeping these items. However when the battle dome did open those who kept these items became rich. So basically hang on to items that neopets say you will be able to use soon.

The Darker Side of Neopia by ChromeFox

*** The users and events I mention in this article are all factual. Some of this may seem strange and out-of-the-ordinary, and all of it was. What I’ve told here is just a slice of the cake, but it is Neopets history, and probably one of the most interesting chapters in it. Enjoy. ***

I guess you could say the story began with Sentient. He was probably 16 or 17 at the time he created the very first cheat program for Neopets, Hunter Seeker, which simply played Kacheek Seek (or Badeek Seek as it was called back then) automatically. Since at the time, that was the most popular and profitable game, Hunter Seeker became an instant hit.

Neopets The Movie – Will It Be Great? by Yukio

When Neopets’ Adam first asked the members of PPT Forum what they thought of the possibility of a Neopets movie, most if not all of us, wanted to believe it was a joke while knowing in the back of our minds that it was an all too real possibility, especially more so considering Doug Dohring, the company which acquired Neopets in it’s ‘infancy’ had expressed his intent to bring Neopets into an offline medium.

One of the most compelling arguments against a Neopets movie draws analogies between the Pokemon fad. Many gamers fear that once Neopets breaks into the movie medium, it will suffer the same fate such Pokemon. Pokemon arguably lost its appeal once it moved into the movie and merchandising market. People claimed to be over exposed to the Pokemania phenomenon. Additionally, many of the merchandising and movies which was contingent on the original Pokemon concept seemed to be poorly thought out, poorly executed and poorly designed. The perception of poor quality and inflated prices all for the quick buck that many great things seem to eventually entail, turned consumers off and Pokemon spectacularly became a thing of the past as quick as it had ascended into public recognition.
