Greater power up
An easy way to get up in the high score area is to stick with one type of ring. In my opinion, the red ring is the best because it goes up to 5+ levels and covers a wide area when you get a lot of red rings (not red blinking). – the Clark Family
Don’t go for red
Alright so you want to have a high score, then keep on getting orbs, the only advice from me is not to take the red one, because the red one usually gives you good weapons and gives you the starting weapons. And for a high score play in hard difficulty it doesn’t matter though cause its easy to get 1000 np by that difficulty. Keep the Pteri in the middle so the Grarrl wont get you, play every day and you’ll be a pro. – ApriBella
Basic tips
– I think the white orbs are the best because there are only 3 of them and the 3rd one you super good – it shoot to all the directions.
– Always play on the hardest level.
– Go back while shooting in the start of the game. – Guy
What I use
Well what I do is go to hard level. Then I go for anything except red and white! To me those are the worst there are. Because the red one takes too long. The white one is ok for some levels but when you are against a wave of those Pterodactyls they are practically useless. The reason it is useless is because I had to face like 3 waves once and all I had was that. So I shot it and it trimmed the edges of them. But what didn’t help me was that there was another wave and that I couldn’t get to the sides and it didn’t reload quick enough. So I lost a few lives on the harder levels like that. The other ones are real good because they don’t take too long and they do are real fair amount of damage. I would recommend that you stay in the middle and slightly at the top but not too high. Then when they come just shot at most but if you want you can let some of them slide. Don’t get the ones that are diff. colors if your weapon is already upgraded of course. I also never try to go for the Grarrls. – Glower5
Go against the guide, sure that’s ok
I’m going against everything said, but I think blue is the best. The lil blaster is just as strong, and there are 2 projectiles, so it’s twice as strong. The sparkshooter 5000 is as strong as healing spring special, and 3 projectiles… you get the idea. I stop at boro-vanisher, because the double-fisted phaser is kind of weird, and sometimes goes through the enemy. I don’t like the red weapon because it can only hit one enemy at a time. – Pseudo185
Mini Guide
Pterattack, in my opinion, is one of the best np makers in all of Neopia. It is simple to get a score of 1000 or over. 3 times a day is an instant 3000. AND, if you are skilled enough to get 2500 or more, then you will receive a Magical Pteri Plushie. Now, most of the plushies aren’t worth a great deal. A couple hundred maybe, but no more. Now the YELLOW one, is worth around 10000. That’s a good amount of np for playing a game. But it is random which plushie you receive, so you won’t always make 30000 a day. But here is how I win
Weapon: Only get blue. If you see a blue, TAKE IT! They used to be the worst weapon, but now they are the best. The highest blue weapon is called the double fisted phaser. It takes about 1/3 of the screen up. Now, if you haven’t seen a blue yet, but you see a red power up, TAKE IT ONLY UNTIL YOU SEE A BLUE ONE. Say you start out with the first red weapon. You start shooting the pteri’s, when a red power up comes along. take it and use it until a blue one comes. It will just make it easier.
Level: Hard. It takes too long to just play on easy or medium. If you don’t have at least the second level weapon of blue, start over. It takes time, but if you do it right, you will do better in the long run.
Strategy: Stay on the left hand side once you have the double fisted phaser, and only move if the Grarrl forces you to. Blue enemy Pteri will start coming down, and they are worth 18 points each! And as long as you don’t miss one, they will keep coming down!
That is all I have to say. Good luck Pterattack fans. – sortinghat
Automated Play
Find a large object that sits on your spacebar and doesn’t fall of. Then start a game of Pterattack. Put the heavy object on the space bar so the Pteri keeps on shooting. You can then leave the game and do whatever you want. You can also just keep on playing with it shooting. Once my friend rang up when I was playing Pterattack. I was able to talk and play at the same time with no problems. Once I had about 600 and I had to have dinner. I left it shooting and when I came back I had achieved my personal best. It is recommended however that you upgrade your weapons at least to level three before doing this. 🙂 – Tarkus Magonwolf
Shooting two shots in rapid succession
As soon as you press the space bar, press the up button and shoot again. You should be able to shoot twice right behind the other shot in stead of it taking forever but you have to do this each time you want to shoot twice. Note however it usually takes about a second before it allows you to do this again. – Hogwarts
