Neoboard Rules By Gliiss

Before you start talking on the Neoboards you should have a quick look at the chat rules.
Not only will I go over Neopets rules, but I’ll go over Netiquette (Internet Etiquette), something that seems to be lacking lately.

A good rule of thumb to follow is to avoid annoying other by spamming, talking in chatspeak, talking in all caps, stretching the boards with long links, or flat out breaking the rules.

A rule that applies to all websites is to never try to go around the word filters. These filters are in place to protect you and younger computer users. Trying to get past the filters will ultimately get you frozen, so it’s not a good idea.

Another annoying and flat out wrong practice on the Neoboards and elsewhere is Chain Letters. Every once in a while someone starts a rumor that if you post a message on X amount of boards that you’ll be able to receive a rare item or power, sometimes these chains prevent something “bad” from happening. Believing in these messages is foolish. If you really could post a message a bunch of times and get a faerie paintbrush do you think that they would be as expensive as they are? Of course not! This also breaks a rule which will result in you getting frozen!

Be careful how you advertise your pets up for adoption. Never create more than one board and be careful how often you bump the board. This is considered spam and will result in a warning or freezing.

An important term to know is noobs. Don’t confuse noobs with newbies. Newbies are new people who are new to a website while noob is an offensive term that means someone that is ignorant to the forum rules and Netiquette.

Never beg for anything. When you’re giving away something for free, but you want to make sure it goes to the best person the last thing you would want to see is someone begging for you to pick them. This might actually make them not want to give you their gift! Be respectful and nice, and you’ll have a better chance at getting the gift!

Don’t be afraid if someone tells you they’re going to report you. If you’ve been following the rules that there is no problem, in fact the person who reports you when you do nothing wrong has a better chance of getting frozen than you do. TNT (The Neopets Team) investigate and put a lot of thought into each time they freeze someone. Yes, sometimes glitches happen and you’ll be wrongly frozen, but if you use the “wrongfully frozen” link and explain yourself members of TNT will look over what happen and left you know swiftly if they can help you. – Gliiss
