Neggsweeper Guide by magic_pony

For those that have played minesweeper (a game that comes with the Microsoft system) this is going to be a cinch; but I will cover every aspect of the game anyways…

First of all, read the rules:

To begin a game, choose which difficulty level you wish to play. The harder the level, the more the payoff will be for winning!

To play, you simply have to click on any of the neggs on the board. If you click on a negg that does not have any bad neggs surrounding it, it will clear all of the surrounding neggs as well, up until it reaches a negg that does have a trap next to it. You may even get a bonus if you clear multiple neggs with one click!

If you click on a negg that does have a trap next to it, then it will display a number from 1 to 8, depending on how many of the surrounding neggs are traps. The higher the number, the more dangerous that area is to click in.

If you click on a negg that has a trap, the Jackpot is reset back to 0 and you lose!

To add or remove a flag, hold down the Control Key while clicking on the negg! (This is for 4.0 versions or higher of Internet Explorer and Netscape.)

If you can successfully clear all of the neggs without clicking on any of the traps, you win all the points that have racked up in the Jackpot!

In other words, there are a bunch of random mines on each level. Every NON-MINE spot will have a number on it when you click on it telling you how many mines are touching it.

If you click on a mine, you lose.

To help keep track of mines; press and hold control when clicking on a mine.

If you are using Firefox/Opera/etc. Use shift instead.

Now to get into the more advanced stuff:

You CAN’T ALWAYS WIN; so dont get upset if you are an expert and end up losing almost every time; its just luck.

Start of by clicking randomly (re-read that). You want to open up a situation where one of the boxes reads a number and it only touches THAT MANY OTHER NON-NUMBER places. In other words, if there’s a box missing a single block at a corner, and theres a number cell directly across/diagonal from that missing corner (i.e. the corner was not opened), then that block will read 1 and that missing corner is a mine.

Look for situations where a cell block has the number x on it and is only touching X number of blank boxes.
