Memoirs of a Kadoatie by Gracekiggs

As you all know, I am a Kadoatie. Yes, I am one of those cat-like animals that people dote on just to get dumb sparkly trophies or shiny avatars. I am not really loved, except for the day my life began!

Squeals, pokes, screams, laughter, resonated throughout the room the day I was bought. “How cute is he!!” blurted out from my foster mom. Rhythmic noises soothed me while I was glared at. I was only given attention to until I was assigned to this giant creature. As I listened, I learned more and more. When I was 30 days old, I found out that the creature’s foster mom was a human, that the being was a Chia, I learned how to talk and understand mouth motions and sounds, and how to survive off of what little we were fed.

Life passed on, and I slowly became brighter. On special occasions our owner would give up canned prunes and Illusen’s cream cookies to fill our empty stomachs. I developed a taste for nothing but saliva, and found out who my true owner is, Neopets.

I needed to find my owner, if it was the last thing I did!

30 days passes and I then became almost 5 months old. I had finished my escape route and used the extra spoons to make a replica of my figure. The tunnel was built, and I had escaped. Free as I was, I missed my true friend Chia. “Mustn’t hold back and weep about the past.. Move forward, closer to victory” I would desperately say to myself. 10 days alone, and exhausted from the walking, I would gasp for air under the money tree.

“What’s wrong little fella, here, let me carry you to the Kadoatery” whispered the Breadmaster as he fed me some extra scones in his pocket.

I was carried to the Kadoatery to find that there were little kids there trying to feed us. It was heaven! I was fed what I pleased, whenever I pleased! I had friends, enemies, kids to love, favorites, and attention. I finally escaped to a perfect place, but then I something out. We were only fed and given attention to so the kids can brag about trophies or ‘avvies’. I was too caught up in the moment to realize this.

As my anger bubbled up, I made sure that I could have the best of the best and the most expensive food I could find, I wanted Draik Eggs, and Golden Carrots. As my anger slowly went down another emotion gargled in my throat, and that was depression and sadness.

I was bought, starved, stuffed in a cage, and used. All I wished for now was to be with my friend Chia. *Ring Ring* the door swung open, it was some guy named Adam and he was looking for a Kadoatie to take home. “I’ll take THIS one!” he exclaimed while pointing a finger toward my chest.

I finally had a home again, and better yet! It was an employee of Neopets so I got to test out and try all the new products. Although, this guy Adam, he really loved asparagus!
