Whether you are a newbie, or a long time user, everyone wants to know the secrets to getting rich… and quickly. Before I begin, let me say that there is no magic way to earn neopoints. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Now, the first thing you want to do is go to all the freebies. Coltanzs Shrine, Fruit Machine, Tombola, and the Snowager are great ones to use. Once a month you can go to http://www.neopets.com/freebies/index.phtml for 2,000 neopoints and free food for all your pets.
Next, play the sponsor games, because more often than not they don’t require any skill, and are fast. When they have a full load of games, I can usually make over 14,000 neopoints in a day. Another easy game is Fashion Fever, because all you have to do is start and end the game. Then, play the easy games, like Ice Cream Machine, Kiko Match II, and National Neopian, because they can get you a lot of money, even if you aren’t good at them. So, try to play as many games as possible, because, believe me, it can get you a lot.
Be sure to have an open bank account, and regularly deposit your neopoints so that there is less of a chance of them being stolen. Be sure to collect your interest every day, because even though it doesn’t seem like a lot, it can help.
Random events are amazing things too. Either refresh in pages, or keep going through pages, and random events will appear. I tend to get a lot of codestones, which sell for at least 3k each usually more. I started out a lot of my fortune with a map that I found, and sold at the trading post for 40k. The more random events you get, the better. I recommend selling your random event items in the trading post, but make sure you know the value, so that people aren’t ripping you off. If you aren’t getting hits there, try the auctions, pricing it at where you would in the shop. If people are going to bid, they’ll have to bid for higher than that, and you could end up making a lot of money. If this too doesn’t work, re-check the shop wizard to make sure you aren’t over-pricing it. If you’re not, put it in your shop.
Next, make sure you have a shop, even if it only holds 10 items (which is a good place to start). Make sure to price your items along the shop wizard, so refresh a few times to get a good idea of what the price is. Don’t try and price things too low, because then others will see it low, and price it lower, and your end result is that a very expensive item will end up a poorly-priced item. Keep your shop stocked at all time, and if you have time, advertise it on the shop boards. All you need is your link, and people will come.
The trading post can be a good place for some, if they get lucky. I’ve had people try and get away with buying an item for 3,000 less than it is on the Wizard, so you have to be careful about that. If you can get a good deal, it’s best to take it, because people can and will withdraw offers. If you’re buying from the trading post, make sure you know the shop wiz price of every item you are buying. If they have a set price in the “wishlist”, make sure what they want isn’t overpriced. If they don’t have a “wishlist”, try offering a little less than what the trade is worth. Sometimes desperate people will accept that kind of an offer. The trading post is good if you know what you’re doing, but if you don’t it’s best to rely on your shop.
Overall, making neopoints is easy if you make an effort to make it. Lazy people are usually the ones you see begging at the boards for people to either loan them money, or buy from their overpriced shop. Once again, there is no easy way to make neopoints, nor a neopoint-making machine. People who are rich worked hard at it, and got a little lucky. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be good at games to get rich. I stink at games, and I still made it big.
