Invasion of Meridell Tips

The finer points of Meridell

Submitted by goldentrophy25
First of all the point is to keep the first army you get because they are really good .The skeith may be slow at first but then WHAM an amulet of teleportation and a berserker Battle Axe. The moehog is the fastest but doesn’t have many good items. The Techo wants to be equipped with a sword or a shield and the scorchio is farthest shooter if you get it a soldier which is when you destroy 9 baddies. Lastly, the Grundo which likes Magic items like a magic force spell and a Staff of Thunder. Now the game, always protect at least 3 villages but if your army has expanded largely, then make them guard other places. Name your characters names so you don’t get confused with who is who. The ranks now. Villager-0-2 then a defender 3-8 then Soldier 9-17 then Captain 18 above. That is all the ranks I have reached. Now the special items, usually send a moehog or a skeith that can teleport but you got to hurry or they might take it away.

Dot point tips

#1. Let the enemy come to you. Don’t go to them
#2. Don’t use Skieth’s unless you have a Teleport Amulet
#3. Beware! The enemy gets as many turns as it has members on its army.
#4. Techos are awful. Don’t use them in my suggestion. Only use them if you have them at a high rank and have the items made for it. The shield and sword. You will get a bonus if you them both.
#5. Don’t be afraid to change your line-up. If you don’t like Skieth’s kick em’ off you army.
#6. If you get the special items of the spieces you are using… You get bonuses. For example. A Grundo with Magic Force Scroll and Invisibility Cloak will make almost unstoppable.
#7. Scorchios don’t have a defense item, and Moehogs don’t have attack items. Therefore if you only have like 1 enemy let keep him busy and let you Scorchios and Moehogs get a few item. The best item for a Moehog with attack would be a Force Scroll. And the best item in defense for Scorchios is Invisibility Cloak.
#8. Pack up your strongest Defenders and keep them around you villages. If you have one on one side of the battle arena and one on the other side you will almost certainly lose. So you shouldn’t do that.

Battle Formations

You should make a battle formation to surround the cities, and keep at least one fighter per two invaders. When a fighter gets below eight points, you should try to heal it with a potion, move it behind the front lines, or heal it with a grundo. Grundo’s are really nifty if they have a magic scroll. You can use them to give any fighter some health points, but both must have an available turn.

Keep some skeiths and get an amulet of teleportation. Also get a berserker battle axe. With these your skeith can teleport, and after teleportation get an extra turn!
Guard the potions of well-being or other healing potions from the invaders. They won’t do anything for a fighter if the fighter has 18 health points. You should save them for a fighter very low on health points.

A good strategy is attacking the invaders from the outside in. Once an invader is conquered, it is turned into a fighter for your side. You can then use these converts to fight the invaders on the inside. If you attack some random invaders in the middle, they, no doubt, will quickly be immersed into the invaders side quickly.
Once you get to mission four, Once you lose, you get sent back to battle 1, so be warned!
I hope these tips are useful for everyone!

Battling 101

You must move slowly towards the invader, and sometimes while attacking they will turn you into an invader, DON’T LET IT HAPPEN! If it happens then that soldier will lose all its saves and its stats bonus, and it’ll render your troop useless at the later levels. The best strategy is to use your Scorchio or your Grundo to move slowly to get the Lost Item. Don’t ever use either of the Techo, Skeith, or Moehog because they’ll have low defense and are easy to be knocked out. It really doesn’t matter afterwards because it’ll be the same when they reach their defense max (14). The evenness is important so that you don’t think to highly of one of your troops, send it solo and watch it get swarmed.

Gaining the Lost Item without penalty

One strategy that could help in Invasion Of Meridell is getting the Lost Item as soon as possible. The best way to do this is to have the Skeith use the Amulet of Teleportation and transport near the item. The only problem with that is that you spend valuable move points on getting the item when you really need to be concentrating on defending from invaders. To get around this, all you have to do is lose the battle. Sounds a bit weird, but on the first battle of your mission, send in the Skeith to get the Lost Item. Once he has it, let the invaders sack the villages. You will lose the battle, but nothing bad happens. You still get to keep the Lost Item, you get back your original champions you sent in, and nothing goes bad against your score. This is a great way to start a game again without having to worry about getting that Lost Item, ’cause you already have it!

Gaining easy levels

On each first battle of each mission, keep 1 or 2 invaders alive and let them change back one captured Neopet. In addition, keep hitting and allowing the captured invader to be reclaimed again and again so the five guys on your army are able to level to their max. This is for getting ranks and that extra stat boost.
