Edna’s Shadow Walkthrough by Hakaze Haywire

This is a guide to Edna’s Shadow. This isn’t a complete guide, but the levels listed so far should be a little easier if you read it.

You move around with the arrow keys and attack enemies with the space bar.

The levels vary a little with every game, like which ingredient is where or how the enemies move. There are no major changes.

The premise of the game is to collect all ingredients in the level and have both Edna and her shadow touch the cauldron AT THE SAME TIME.

Careful: If either Edna or her shadow touches an enemy, the other half cannot collect items until she touches the trapped one.

There are only two ways you can die: (1) If both Edna and her shadow touch an enemy; and (2) If you run out of time, game over.

At the time this guide was written, the NP ratio was 1.05, which means you need only 952 points to get 1,000 NP per play.

Level 1

This is the easiest level. Grab the items in any order you wish. You do not have to use the path I planned on the map, but it just seems easiest to me. Notice that both Edna and Shadow move in completely opposite directions, which doesn’t add any difficultly to this level.

Level 2

This is quite similar to the first level, only there are now two enemies. Following the same plan as the first level, kill the enemies if they get in your way. If either Edna or Shadow gets caught and rescued, you can sync their paths by running them both into the east and west walls.

Level 3

This is the last of the really easy levels. Edna and her shadow still have identical paths, with more enemies. Follow the same plan as Level 1 & 2, and if you need to sync, just ram both Edna and her shadow into the east and west walls.

Level 4

Here’s where it starts to get tricky. Edna and her shadow still move as mirrors of the other, but now they must follow different paths. The trick is to maneuver Edna around her side of the field collecting ingredients, all the while checking on her shadow every once in a while to make sure she’s not running straight into enemies. Then once Edna’s job is done, do the same for her shadow.

By the way, I wouldn’t just dodge an enemy; kill it. Don’t go out of your way to kill it either; it wastes time and monsters don’t give you points.

Now that you’ve gained all the ingredients, you must sync Edna’s and her shadow’s paths like they were intended. The best thing to do is ram them into mirrored corners.

Level 5

Again, Edna and her shadow must do their solo missions. Once finished, sync themr. Then bring them both up and have either Edna or Shadow walk to the right until there’s an equal amount of distance between them. Then you can touch the cauldron together. – Hakaze Haywire
