Dubloon Disaster Guide by Neofrog140

The new neopets game, Dubloon Disaster. In fact, it’s a lot like Meerca Chase. Well let me tell you all about it… First of all, I was one of the first 25 people to play it besides theneopetsteam. So, I got a jump start on the game and got to practice getting good at it before many new it was there! The basic object of the game is to get the dubloons by steering a little boat with the arrow keys. For every dubloon you touch or claim points for, a mine from Black Pawkeet’s ship will appear. You don’t want to touch the mines though because, your character, Dorak the Krawk will die and the game will be over. As the game goes on, the mines move faster. The mines will most likely follow you all over the place the whole time until the end of the game. So, get use to them.

The basic scoring comes from which kind of dubloon that you pick up. The scoring is as follows:

A brown Dubloon: 2 points
A silver dubloon w/ pirate head: 5 points
A silver dubloon w/ crossbones: 10 points
A silver dubloon w/ moon: 20 points
A silver dubloon: 50 points
A gold dubloon w/ crossbones: 100 points
A silver dubloon with gold trimming: 200 points (these don’t come up very often at all)

Some extra tips that I picked up while playing:

If mines are surrounding the dubloon that you want, Go into a corner and turn so that you can press a key and get out of the corner really quickly. Then, after the mines follow you up there, make a dash for the dubloon. Then, of course they will follow you again but if you do this over and over, you’ll get good points. And hey! It works.

Also, the mines have little red lights on them. If one of the mines lights starts to blink really fast, GET AWAY FROM IT!!!! Because, it will explode and it will make anything fairly close to it explode as well whether it is another mine or you. So be careful!

These are really all of the tips I have collected so far but this is the basic stuff. I’m sure there’s more detailed tips about it but hey, the game is new and we got plenty of time to find out more tips! – Neofrog140 (Sarah)
