Dubloon Disaster Guide by Brian

The scoring for dubloon disaster is as follows:

  • A brown dubloon: Two points
  • A silver dubloon with pirate head: Five points
  • A silver dubloon with crossbones: Ten points
  • A silver dubloon with crescent moon: Twenty points
  • A silver dubloon: Fifty points
  • A gold dubloon with crossbones: One-hundred points
  • A silver Dubloon with gold edging: Two-hundred points

You get 600 nps per 100 points scored in the game with a maximum of 1,000 nps per game and a maximum of 3,000 nps a day.

There are two major strategies that I use. If you like, you can:

1. Blow Them Up

This strategy uses the fact that if they run into each other they go kaboom. Every time you get 2 mines, get in-between them until their really close to each other and then run off so they run into each other. This strategy works well but if you don’t have the quickest reflexes then you can die. This is also a strategy in which if you want you can go and get a bunch of points and once there are too many mines, blow them up with scallywags* This way is a little more dangerous than the other way but it’s a lot easier to get the 170 points needed for a maximum of 1,000 nps.

2. Make Sure They Don’t Blow Up

This strategy uses the fact that if you keep blowing them up, one in one hundred will somehow appear right in front of you in which you can’t stop fast enough to not run into it. Therefore you want to keep them in a circle, but one that isn’t too tightly packed or they’ll run into each other. If you have a lot of time, this strategy works well because you sit in a corner and wait for them to come at you, once the dubloon is open you run around the circle of mines and get the dubloon. This way its easier to get scores on the high score list. I’ve gotten scores of 2,000+ using this strategy.

Both strategies are hard to get good at but once you are good at them, Dubloon Disaster will become a great game to play! Once you get good at it, it’s quite easy to get scores of 200 every time you play but if it does take a lot of practice. If you aren’t getting the score of 200 that you want every time, it’s not unusual, it’s taken me almost a year to get really good at this game, so just keep trying and I promise that you’ll get it sooner or later.

Scallywags is a “cheat” that you can type into the game. It creates a whirlpool in which all of the mines on the map are sucked into. It destroys the point of strategy 2 but strategy 1 works well with it. You don’t always need to type scallywags to get the whirlpool, whirlpools sometimes do just pop up and suck up all the mines. – Brian
