Advert Attack is a relatively easy game as is getting the avatar, for which you can easily send in a score of 700+.
All you have to do is race Ace Zafara as fast as possible form the left side of the screen to the right side by clicking on the Go-Buttons that appear in a frame in the lower half of the window, thereby beating the opponent Race Robo. You have 50 seconds per level to achieve this.
For each level finished you gain 50 points plus the remaining seconds as bonus, so the faster you are, the more points you get. With ten levels this makes a theoretical total of 1,000 points, however as nobody can race Ace Zafara from one side of the screen to the other in less than a second, your score in reality will normally be somewhere between 600 (if you had a not so good game) and 800 (or even more with time, practice and luck).
From level 2 on there will be pop-ups invading this game, blocking parts of the screen. Where these pop-ups appear is completely random, so they may be only party visible or covering only parts of the race or the Go-Frame. To get rid of these pop-ups, you have to click on the little white x on red background in the top-right corner of the pop-up or on the No-Button when it is asking for you to install anything or Okay when you are told that there is a neomail waiting for you. (Same as you would usually do on the Internet.)
From level 5 on there can also appear white pop-ups (having a white background with no blue window-frame around), where you have to click on the line close this window which appears at the bottom of the pop-up.
The higher the level the more pop-ups appear.
Getting rid of the pop-ups takes times and thereby reduces your bonus-points up to the point where you don’t finish the level in time and lose. However, you don’t need to get rid of all the pop-ups. The only pop-ups that matter are those that block your Go-Frame.
So here we go with some advice that will get you the avatar in no time:
Ignore the pop-ups in the race-part of the screen completely if they don’t block the Go-Frame. You don’t need to see Ace Zafara or the time left. Just keep clicking on the Go and you’ll finish the level before Race Robo.
Like a normal window you can move the pop-ups with the blue frame. You actually have to, if only the left half of the pop-up is visible, to get to the x (or whatever closes the window fastest) to close the window. But you don’t need to close a window necessarily. Sometimes it is faster to simply store a pop-up near the bottom or right edge and clear the Go-Frame this way. And you don’t have to be very accurate with the storing, as the Go-Button has a steady size and you can still click it even if only a part of it is visible.
In the early levels try to wait removing the pop-up till a Go-Button takes you already close to the pop-up as this saves a tiny bit of time as well, which in the end may make the difference between avatar and no avatar. In later levels the pop-ups will be so frequent that itll be easier to move those directly instead of having to move a whole bunch of piled up pop-ups before accessing the Go-Button again.
There is a code that makes all visible pop-ups disappear which is nopopups. However, typing the code again takes time and you no longer can type most of it while Dr. Sloth shows the development graphic. Starting to type will start the next level, so only resort to the code if absolutely necessary and then type it completely.
Another thing you might want to try is playing the game with the size set Small, as again it reduces the way you have to move the cursor, thereby saving time and points.
If you are a non-premium-user you may have already noticed with other games, that some ads on the Neopets page take up a lot of traffic, causing the games to lag. So before starting the game make sure you have only low-traffic-ads on the Neopets page (or pages in case you have several open).
Brrrr those pop ups in the game are so annoying.
