For those who have never played Ultimate Bullseye: You can skip to the next paragraph.
If you have played Ultimate Bullseye: Here’s some differences between the old and new Ultimate Bullseye game.
The new Ultimate Bullseye is different in many ways. There is a new, bigger landscape (personally, I think it’s harder to aim now). The catapult no longer looks like it is aimed at the target board, but the ditch between the two opposing hills. You can no longer fling the arrow upwards and have it come almost straight down while still being able to land on the target board, it doesn’t allow you to aim high enough for that anymore. The power-ups have also changed a bit.
The bar recording your score and such is below rather than above and gives you more info than before, as well as the option to end the game early, very convenient when you mess up as much as I do. The target board is moved by a Buzzer rather than on its own. There are bonus’ to be gained while shooting, which are no longer available ONLY by hitting a bullseye!
The Basics
- The link to the game. After all, you have to know how to get there.
- Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to aim the arrow on the catapult. After aiming, press & hold the SPACEBAR to give it power. Release the SPACEBAR to fire the arrow hopefully to the bullseye.
- You get 10 tries to get a bullseye and your points all add up. After ten tries you can keep going until you no longer score ten or more points per arrow.
- You get 10 NP for every point scored in Ultimate Bullseye II.
- It’s average difficulty is medium.
General Points
- Brown board/nothing: 0 points
- Outer red ring: 1 point
- Outer white ring: 2 points
- Inner red ring: 3 points
- Inner white ring: 5 Points
- Red circle: BULLSEYE! 10 points
Special Points
- Punchbag Bob is no longer a power-up, but will replace the bullseye randomly! 5 Points if you hit him, even more points if you hit the apple!
- Bonus points are given when you hit a red balloon with a shield on it. I have gotten 5 points from hitting it and nothing else and 31 points from hitting it and then landing on Punchbag Bob!
Power-ups
Power-ups are given when you have hit a bullseye. You can also (just like in the original Ultimate Bullseye) type in ‘catapult’ and get a free power-up; this only works once a game.
- Bouncing bull: It will make the whole target grow and shrink.
- Moving target: The Buzzer will move it from left to right on the screen while you try to aim. As soon as you’ve fired, the buzzer will stop sliding it.
- Fire hoop: A hoop of fire stands in your way, hit the pole and your arrow goes straight down to the ground. Hit above and your arrow will soar, through the hoop? No way. To the target? Who knows. Aim and fire through the hoop and double your score!
- Three shots: Three arrows flying through the air at once. Just hope one hits the bullseye!
- Inverted target: The bullseye gets you nothing while the backboard gives you everything! Do your best to hit as far away from the target as possible while still hitting the board!
What I Find Useful
- I have always saved at least one power-up that I find actually helps me rather than hurts me to use in the last shot in this game. Now be careful here; if you forget you lose the power-up completely, and your score may not be as high as it could be! Also in Ultimate Bullseye II, it’s a bit tricky to find when you’re on your last shot. Make sure you pick to use that power-up when it says you have 2 tries left when it gives you the choice to use it. The number of tries you have left is changed after the target is moved, so really you only have 1 shot left at that time.
- Send the score according to how good you are. I usually send scores at about 30, because that’s the best I’ve gotten at the game so far.
- I usually aim for one point above where I think the arrow would hit the bullseye, my aim seems to work out. I tend to over-shoot or under-shoot a little each time, but in general the least power you want is to fill the power target to about halfway and the most you want to shoot is about 7/8 of the way. Firing off with a full target hardly ever works, however there are rare occasions where you may actually hit the target.
- I tend to mainly go for the balloon bonus when it’s offered. It’s 5 points, no less, and an easier target to hit. It’s rare to hit both balloon and target and more likely that you will fail to hit either if you try to hit both. I suggest choosing one to hit, and if it won’t suffice just hitting the balloon, hit the lower part so there’s a tiny chance you could somehow land on the target.
- Remember that the power needed changes to fit the aim as well. The high the arc, the less power needed. The lower the arc, the more power that will be needed. But don’t think that the power will make the arrow go higher; it only makes the arc straighter. I hope this guide helped you! – starlittwinkler
Additional information for Special Points:
20 points for hitting the apple.
10 points for hitting the gold balloon.
Have fun!
