Kadoatie Feeding by cinfulgirl

In order to get the Mew avatar you must feed 75 Kadoaties at the Kadoatery. It takes a lot of pratice and quick handwork to feed ’em, but hopefully my page will help you get a little better at it. The screen shots below are how I managed to feed them, and is one of the easiest ways to do it I believe.

The Kadoaties restock around every 30-35 minutes, sometimes with a ‘mini restock’ in between (which consists of one, sometimes two Kadoaties, that become hungry in the lower right hand corner). This happens when a Kadoatie with an unbuyable hasn’t been fed from the last round (this Kadoatie will usually be in the upper left hand corner). So with the added mini restock, it essentially makes the new round a full restock. These usually appear anywhere from ten minutes after the initial restock, or around five to ten minutes before the next restock.

The first thing you want to do is set your resolution to 1280×1024, it makes the screen smaller, and that gives you a lot more room to have more windows open.

The second thing you want to do (if you’re really dedicated to getting the avatar) is get a clock that stays open on top of all your windows and applications. You can get one by going to desktopx.net and downloading their free program (Then go to wincustomize.com and download the clock). Once you have it all installed and ready, right click on the icon on your task bar, click configure, select the clock and switch it to “always on top”. If you don’t understand these directions, I have another clock that might be easier for you to understand and use – visit cinful.net/clock.html to download and install. If you cannot figure them out, please dont clutter my inbox with questions about them – I dont have time to answer everyone right away.

The clock you see in my screen shots is from the Desktop X program. Having an analog clock is important, otherwise you’d have to sit at the Kadoatery and constantly refresh since you wouldn’t have a good idea on when the next restock is due.

Next open up two windows like below, side by side. One being the Kadoatery (on the left) and the shop wizard (on the right). Adjust the size to look like mine below. It’s easier and quicker to do it this way, that way when the Kadoaties restock instead of clicking the task bar to bring up the shop wizard window all you have to do is click to the right and it’ll bring it to the top making it your active window.

Keeping an eye on the clock, start refreshing approximately 3 to 4 minutes before the next restock. When there is a restock the Kadoaties that need feeding will be in white, like below. It doesnt matter which one you feed, find one as quick as you can, copy the food it wants then click on the shop wizard window real fast.

Once you have the item copied, paste it into the search bar on the shop wizard window, press search and then click on the first link you see. Don’t bother looking for cheaper prices or you’ll miss feeding the Kadoatie for sure. Once the shop opens press Control F then Control V then click Find Next. It will take you right to your item (and highlight it in black, like below) even if all the pictures in the shop aren’t loaded. This is the easiest and fastest way to find your food, especially if the shop happens to be big. Click on the item real fast even if the pictures haven’t finished loading, then click on the kitty, even before the shop finishes reloading after you’ve purchased the item.

If you’re quick enough and you manage to feed a Kadoatie you’ll see a message like this (with the number of Kadoaties you’ve actually fed):

Hoorah!
You’ve made Fluffet a very happy Kadoatie.

*Mew!*

Thanks for doing a good deed!

(Also, in case you were wondering, you have now fed 75 Kadoaties in all!)

That is how I got the avatar so quickly. It took me five days, but then again, I also spent about three or four hours a day just camping out in the Kadoatery (Okay, I lie, I didn’t sleep). Most of the other people who have the avatar have said it took them anywhere from a week to nine days. It takes a lot of patience too, and it teaches you the true meaning of insanity – sitting there refreshing, and refeshing, and refreshing… just waiting. The good thing is though, you don’t get ‘restock’ banned.

Some people also keep some commonly asked for items in their inventory. I never did this because I’d forget what I had and didn’t have, and whenever the Kadoaties restocked again I would just automatically copy and paste into the wizard and snatch the food real fast. However, here are a few of the food items I have seen pop up more than once, incase you’re interested.

Be careful when you do this, and do not abuse the 50-item limit, many people have been warned for this and had the items in their inventory deleted.

Once ya feed one Kadoatie you get the trophy on your lookup, and each time you feed a new one the count gets higher. Once you reach 75, to get the avatar simply go to your lookup and scroll down to where the trophy.

Good luck, have fun, and enjoy your new addiction. Once you feed 75 you won’t want to stop, trust me, and it’s a lot more fun to feed ’em after you have the avatar anyway. You can miss and not get too mad because there’s no pressure to actually have to get the item.

Commonly questions asked:

How do you get to the Kadoatery?
It’s listed on the shops map.

How many Neopoints did ya spend?
In total, around 300,000 Nps, but that’s because I went for some of the 90K items that were being asked for. You can get away with spending around 100K total, if you’re quick enough.

I thought you didn’t collect avatars?
I don’t, I just thought it’d be priceless to beat Jazz in a little friendly competition.

How many times did you miss?
A lot. Once I sold all the extra food I had left over from missing I made back around 150,000 Nps.

Why do you keep feeding them even though you have the avatar?
Addiction. Seriously. After spending so much time there refreshing and clicking it’s the first place I go to when I log onto Neopets everyday, more out of habit than anything. I feed them when my friends are online as well, it’s more fun when ya do it with another person.

Why are the Kadoaties still crying even after you feed them?
They always cry at night, they’re scared of the dark. I think they start crying around 11pm until 2am NST.

When do you get a Silver and Gold trophy?
Silver trophy after you feed 10, gold trophy after you feed 25.

What day did you get the avatar?
Monday, September 20, 2004.

When is the best time to feed them?
Around 11pm up until 6am NST. Less people are on the site then, and people are a lot slower at feeding them at that time too.

Which Kadoatie was your 75th?
Fluffet.

How many Kadoaties does it take to twist in a light bulb?
None. I ate the lightbulb. With Ranch, Jon. – cinfulgirl
