The Bruce (named for Bruce Forsyth, see below) is a species of penguin-like Neopet. Native to Terror Mountain, Bruces have a strong tolerance for cold weather. They are competitive Neopets that excel at dancing and winter sports like ice skating.
Bruces are dressed in large bow-ties and usually have a cowlick crest on the top of their heads. In the Neopets Trading Card Game, they are associated with the element of Light.
Old designs

The Bruce originally wasn't a penguin-based Neopet, but was based on real world entertainer Bruce Forsyth. It originally appeared as a sepia photograph of him, before it was redrawn, still in his image. Concerned that this design "didn't really fit in with the theme", the Bruce was redesigned on 16 November 2000 into its penguin incarnation. This would undergo some later redraws but the design itself remains virtually unchanged today.
