Mayor Thumburt
Mayor Thumburt is a Green Bruce, and he was once the mayor of Neovia. Like many of the other Neovian citizens, Mayor Thumburt took Mr. Krawley's Hissi Oil potion and was cursed by it. After the potion's curse began to manifest, he encouraged the townspeople to place the blame on Bruno and his family. He also suggested that the citizens of Neovia summon the Spirit of Slumber to break the curse. When Sophie tried to cure the townspeople using her potion, Mayor Thumburt blocked her way.
Although it is never directly stated, it can be inferred that Mayor Thumburt took the Hissi Oil potion in order to gain political power and that he tried to stop Sophie from curing the town because he wanted to maintain his control over the townspeople.
The Tale of Woe[edit]

After being cursed by Mr. Krawley's potion, the citizens of Neovia became enraged. At first they wanted to exact their revenge on Mr. Krawley directly, but the Blue Krawk had already skipped town and could not be found.
In Krawley's absence, the villagers decided to instead take out their anger on Bruno and his family. Led by Mayor Thumburt, the villagers formed and angry mob and attack the Gelert's family. Fortunately, the family was able to scatter and escape unharmed. Without a scapegoat to blame, the furious townspeople turned on each other. Seeing the destruction and chaos, Mayor Thumburt intervened and proposed summoning the Spirit of Slumber to break their curse. The townspeople agreed and summoned the spirit. The spirit told the townsfolk that he could lift their curse, but that it would come at a terrible cost. The mayor agreed to pay this price. True to his word, the spirit lifted the curse by turning all of the citizens of Neovia into ghostly beings that only appeared on Halloween night.
After Sophie, Bruno, and Gilly asked the Spirit of Slumber undo his spell, the citizens of Neovia returned to the physical world; however, they quickly reverted to back to their cursed forms. Mayor Thumburt again blamed the curse on Bruno and encouraged the angry crowd of Neovians to attack the Blue Gelert. Thankfully, Bruno was able to fight off the townsfolk and escape.
Later, when Sophie, Bruno, and Gilly tried to add a potion that would lift the curse to the town's water supply, Mayor Thumburt blocked the way to the town's well. He told Sophie to leave forever and forget Neovia. When Sophie refused to do so, the Mayor morphed into an monstrous form and attacked the three heroes. Bruno was able to distract the mayor by jumping on his back, allowing Sophie to use her magic to turn Mayor Thumburt into a Moquot. With the mayor defeated, Sophie was able to add the potion to the water supply and cure the cursed Neovians.
Battledome[edit]
Mayor Thumburt was a challenger that users could fight in the Battledome during the Tale of Woe plot. He had three different forms, each of which was more powerful than the last. Unlike normal Battledome challenges, users had to work together to in order to defeat the mayor. Every time a user battled Mayor Thumburt, his collective HP dropped slightly, giving the next user to battle him a better chance at beating him.
First Form[edit]
The first form of Mayor Thumburt was defeated only a few hours after he was released on November 17, 2006.
