Roodoku is Neopets' version of sudoku - hence its name, which is a portmanteau of Blumaroo and sudoku. It was released on April 28, 2007. The story behind Roodoku is that King Roo is searching for a new treasurer after a rather disastrous incident involving some of his Dice-A-Roo prizes. Before getting the job though, the hopefuls applying for it must first prove their prowess with numbers by playing Roodoku.

How to play[edit]

Roodoku follows the same rules as sudoku; there is a square divided into nine smaller squares, which also are divided into nine smaller squares. Numbers (ranging from 1 to 9) have to be filled into each of the smallest squares in such a way that each individual number only appears once in the horizontal row it is part of, only once in the vertical row it is part of and only once in the medium-sized square it is part of. To get the player started, a couple of numbers already are filled in.

Roodoku has four modes:

  • Practice: This mode doesn't earn you any points. It's a very simple version of Roodoku with squares made up of only four smaller squares. Likewise, the numbers you have to fill in only range from 1 to 4.
  • Easy: 27-31 numbers have to be filled in. Players get 200 points for finishing the puzzle and a maximum of 200 for the remaining time bonus.
  • Medium: 37-41 numbers have to be filled in. Players get 400 points for finishing the puzzle and a maximum of 400 for the remaining time bonus.
  • Hard: 47-51 numbers have to be filled in. Players get 600 points for finishing the puzzle and a maximum of 600 for the remaining time bonus.
