Map of Krawk Island

Krawk Island is a small island off the southern coast of Mystery Island, discovered on September 5, 2001 but formerly believed to be uninhabited. It has recently prospered as a haven for pirates (although whether for some tactical advantage or use in a trade route has not yet been determined). Krawk Island is notable for its use of Dubloons as its primary currency, rather than the much more widely accepted Neopoints.

Attractions

  • The Golden Dubloon: A restaurant, the first of its kind in Neopia. Charges are made in Dubloons, and on rare occasions Neopets may be able to take some leftovers with them from their meal, which act as tradeable items.
  • The Dubloon-o-Matic: An automated machine for exchanging Dubloon coins for higher denominations.
  • The Swashbuckling Academy: Similar to the Training School on Mystery Island, but using Dubloons instead of Codestones. The academy can only offer its services to relatively low leveled pets, in comparison to the Training School and the Secret Ninja School, but does give free courses to applicable pets on their Species pet days.
  • Strange Ship: On the 3rd August, the Strange Ship first docked here.

Yooyuball

Krawk Island's Yooyuball team is filled with "loveable losers" who have never managed to pull together and win their regional tournament. Their fans are the most enthusiastic, but due to the team's failures are also the most suffering. It was hoped Altador Cup 2006 would be the year "Ol' Dash and the gang" would take the win, and despite being expected not even to pass Round 1, they continued to play to Round 3.

Led by forward "Dasher" Soley (who has hinted he may retire after the tournament of 2006) and Goalkeeper Garven Hale (whose skills allowed them to progress through the tournament), it was hoped Altador Cup 2007 would be another spectacular year, especially with the addition of defenseman Zayle Sufhaux (who replaced last year's starter, Hoke Lemtry).

Pirate Colour

A Neopet can be painted to look like a Pirate via Morphing Potions, Rainbow Fountain, or the Pirate Paint Brush, released on May 28, 2002. This colour is not available from the Lab Ray. The look of a Neopet is different depending on the species, but the grey skin/fur is always present.

Neopets

As of May 2008, 48 Neopets are available in the Pirate colour...
