Halloween pets Trick-or-Treating

Halloween is a festival celebrated on 31 October each year, descended from traditions honouring the departed. The holiday is themed around horror and Gothic fiction, and it is a traditional time to carve pumpkins with spooky faces and go trick-or-treating.

It is celebrated in Neopia, where it is associated with the Haunted Woods. Celebrations include events like the Haunted Faire and Halloween-themed Random Contests. The last Neopian Times before Halloween is usually themed around spooky content. Count Von Roo and Edna the witch are more available on this day: they can be challenged in the Battledome at any time, not just between 12 am and 1 am, and Deadly Dice can be played at any time. On Halloween, all users use the Haunted Woods site theme. It can be unlocked to use at any time by visiting the site between 11:59:00 pm and 11:59:59 pm NST on 31 October each year.

It is also one of the many colours players may paint their Neopets with the Halloween Paint Brush. It is a colour that can also be obtained via the Lab Ray, a completed Fountain Faerie Quest, or an appropriate Morphing Potion. Halloween Neopets tend to be styled after traditional spooky characters such as demons, skeletons, vampires, witches, and werewolves. A few are styled after Neopian monsters and characters - for example, the Halloween Yurble is dressed as a Tax Beast and the Poogle as the Snowbeast. The colour is available for Petpets either through the Petpet Lab Ray or the Halloween Petpet Paint Brush.

The plot was designed to coincide with Halloween. This was the only time the cursed Neovian citizens could appear. Halloween Paint Brushes were among the prizes that users could uncover during the grave digging portion of the plot.

• The Neopets Team celebrates Halloween with a party at their headquarters every year, usually showing pictures of the event in the Neocam image directory.
• The Halloween Krawk Petpet was announced in the news twice, once on October 29, 2001, and a second time on April 5, 2002, which is the day TNT released the Halloween Krawk Pets.
• The Halloween Pinklet and Warf were also announced twice. Originally on October 29, 2001, and again on March 12, 2002.
