Faeries are magical female creatures which inhabit Neopia, added to Neopets on January 14, 2000. There are 6 basic Faeries, each corresponding to one of the 6 magical elements of Neopia: Air Faerie, Dark Faerie, Earth Faerie, Fire Faerie, Light Faerie, and Water Faerie.

Spell Faerie

Some faeries, refered to as Spell Faeries, can bless a users Neopet with magical abilities. A pet must be strong enough to control the faeries spells though, or the faerie will fly away if the Neopet is inexperienced. Each of the 6 different Faeries can grant a different set of abilities.

Spell Faeries can be found in a number of places, Although you will rarely find a wild spell faerie because they are extremely hard to catch and need a quick and witty catcher. If a Neopet is quick enough, they may be able to catch a wild faerie. You will often find spell faeries caught in a magic bottle, possibly from the actions of Balthazar. These caught spell faeries yearn to be released back into the wild with their friends, and in return for releasing them, will grant a Neopet magical powers. However, if the Neopet is not strong enough or experienced enough, the the faerie will not be able to bless it and will fly away. Bottled Faeries can be found around Neopia as a Random Event, or simply bought from shops, the Auction House or Trading Post.
