A Zombie Aisha breaking loose.

Zombie is one of the many colours that users can paint their Neopets and Petpets. In general, Zombie pets resemble zombies, with greyish skin, glazed over eyes, and tattered clothing.

The Zombie colour for Neopets was released on October 25, 2007, approximately one year after The Tale of Woe plot ended. Users can change the colour of their Neopets to Zombie by using a Zombie Paint Brush item at the Rainbow Pool. In addition, the Lab Ray also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Neopet to Zombie. Users also have the choice of changing their Neopets's colour to Zombie when they complete a Fountain Faerie Quest. Lastly, a Neopet's colour can be changed to Zombie by using an appropriate Morphing Potion.

The Zombie colour for Petpets was released on August 21, 2010. Petpets can be painted Zombie by using the Zombie Petpet Paint Brush item at the Petpet Puddle. In addition, the Petpet Lab Ray also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Petpet to Zombie.

Trivia

  • In the editorial of the Neopian Times issue #85, The Neopets Team said that they would not release a Zombie colour because it would be too similar to Ghost colour. They obviously changed their mind at some point.
  • In the Neopets TCG the Zombie Moltenore card existed long before the colour was ever released. Moltenores however, are not yet available in this colour. The Zombie Moltenore must have been most likely a Moltenore that has risen from the dead instead of being painted Zombie.
