Coltzan's Shrine is a large obelisk in the Lost Desert released to Neopia on September 3, 2001. It was created to pay homage to the Ghost of King Coltzan III, an old king of Sakhmet who was poisoned on July 9, 2001.
What it does
Users with accounts older than 48 hours are able to go to the shrine and pray to King Coltzan in order to get a blessing every twenty-four hours. There are a number of different outcomes of this prayer...
- Neopets can have their statistics increased, to become stronger or faster or more intelligent or increase levels.
- Be given an item. These range from Desert Food to Battledome weapons to Dubloons. Many of theses items have become cheap and affordable, but there are items such as Kings Lens and Coltzans Sceptre which are powerful in the Battledome, and much more rare.
- A Neopoint reward, between a few hundred neopoints to 1 million (approximately 6 million to 1 chance of happening).
- Sometimes, nothing will happen.
Times to visit
- Speed: Every fifth second
- Defense: Every tenth second
- Strength: Every thirty minutes
- Endurance: Every hour
- Level: Every two hours (however some have reported times such as 7:56:55 NST)
- Burnt Food: 11:00 - 12:00 NST
- Dubloons: 55 seconds past the minute (probably not true because it has proven wrong in numerous occasions)
- 10 Strength Points: Go to king coltzan at exactly 2 ,4 ,6 ,8, 10, or 12 o'clock and you can gain ten levels at a time or exactly every 30 minutes after the hour to gain ten strength points.
- 1 Million Neopoints: Exactly at Midnight NST.
These times are old rumors, and are not fact. It is possible that these times give increased chances for said rewards, but they are by no means 100% accurate. The rewards are random.
Plot summary
The Hunt for the Crown
- Main Article: The Hunt for the Crown
Upon the completion of King Coltzan III's shrine, his crown appeared to have been stolen by two Meercas when it was revealed. Users searched far and wide across Neopia to find the crown and put it back in its final resting place.
Trivia
- As of September 2006, there are two items featuring Coltzan's Shrine, a stamp in the Lost Desert section of the Stamp Album, and a Brightvale Window.
- The Desert Rock also looks very much like Coltzan's Shrine.
