King Coltzan III
King Coltzan III was a Lupe and the former King of Sakhmet. He was murdered by Princess Sankara during the Usurper! plot. His spirit now resides within Coltzan's Shrine, and his ghost sometimes gives out prizes to Neopets that visit the shrine. King Coltzan is survived by his two daughters, Princess Amira and Princess Vyssa.
King Coltzan was kind, generous, wise, and just. He was also a brave warrior, and songs of his heroic deeds are sung all over the Lost Desert. He ruled over Sakhmet for many years and was loved by all his subjects.

Coltzan's Shirne is a large obelisk-like monument that is located in the middle of the Lost Desert. It currently serves as a memorial for the late King Coltzan III, and many Neopets travel to the shrine to pay their respects to the former king. Coltzan's spirit resides within the shrine, and sometimes he appears and gives gifts to users who visit him. Users may visit Coltzan's Shrine as often as they like, but they will only be eligible to receive a prize once every 12 hours. Coltzan gives out many different rewards, including Neopoints, Dubloons, and exclusive Battledome Equipment. He will also occasionally increase a stat on the user's active Neopet by one.

One day, King Coltzan invited five important guest to a feast in the Royal Palace. During the feast, Coltzan was poisoned and subsequently died. Users were tasked with finding Coltzan's murderer by using clues that were provided by TNT. At the end of the plot, it was revealed that it was Princess Sankara who had poisoned Coltzan. She killed Coltzan because he would not provide her with an army to reclaim her homeland.
The Hunt for the Crown[edit]
- Main article: The Hunt for the Crown
As his dying wish, King Coltzan asked that his crown be placed in his shrine so that it could protect the Lost Desert from harm. Unfortunately, right before the shrine was revealed to the public for the first time, the crown was stolen by Heermeedjet and Merouladen who were acting under the command of Malkus Vile. By following a complicated series of clues left by the thieves, users were able to track down the crown and return it to its rightful place.
NeoQuest II[edit]

Coltzan's Ghost is a mandatory boss in the Lost Desert portion of the game NeoQuest II. He is found in the ruined city of Akhten-Ka. Coltzan's spirit was summoned back from the afterlife and forced to guard the third piece of the Medallion of Wind. After being defeated by Rohane and his party, Coltzan's spirit was freed and Rohane was able to take the third medallion piece. Before fading away, Coltzan's ghost told Rohane that, when combined, the three pieces of the medallion would form a map showing the location of the gem needed to power the medallion.
While it is never explicitly stated, it is mostly likely that Anubits was the one who summoned Coltzan's ghost.
