The term Zombie refers to a creature in Neopia (usually a Neopet or Petpet) which bares resemblance to or is a Zombie. Zombies were first introduced onto Neopets on (need date), and was introduced as an actual colour on October 25, 2007.
Zombie is one of the many colours that users can paint their Neopets and Petpets. In general, Zombie pets resemble zombies, with greyish skin, glazed over eyes, and tattered clothing.

Overview
The Zombie colour for Neopets was released on October 25, 2007, approximately one year after The Tale of Woe plot ended. Users can change the colour of their Neopets to Zombie by using a Zombie Paint Brush item at the Rainbow Pool. In addition, the Lab Ray also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Neopet to Zombie. Users also have the choice of changing their Neopets's colour to Zombie when they complete a Fountain Faerie Quest. Lastly, a Neopet's colour can be changed to Zombie by using an appropriate Morphing Potion.
Zombified creatures in Neopia walk around moaning about Brains and are believed to be indulge in the grey matter's consumption... behind closed doors, of course.  It's a theory that has no textual backing, but the silence may just be The Neopets Team's way of keeping Neopets a bright and cheery place (on the surface).

Zombies are one of the many pop culture references The Neopets Team places into the game. Their hopping on the zombie bandwagon can be seen in Neopian Times editorial #158, where they claim to dress as Zombies.  It's also interesting to note that the staff is said to have met the director of Shaun of the Dead.
The Zombie colour for Petpets was released on August 21, 2010. Petpets can be painted Zombie by using the Zombie Petpet Paint Brush item at the Petpet Puddle. In addition, the Petpet Lab Ray also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Petpet to Zombie.

*While the Zombie Paintbrush was released on October 25, 2007, it was claimed by The Neopets Team in Neopian Times editorial #85 no such Paintbrush would exist, due to the similarities shared with Ghost Neopets.
*In the editorial of the Neopian Times issue #85, The Neopets Team said that they would not release a Zombie colour because it would be too similar to Ghost colour.  They obviously changed their mind at some point.
*As of January 2008, Zombies are featured in 17 different items.
*In the Neopets TCG the Zombie Moltenore card existed long before the colour was ever released. This particular Zombie Moltenore must have been most likely a Moltenore that has risen from the dead instead of being painted Zombie.

A Zombie Aisha breaking loose.

Zombie is one of the many colours that users can paint their Neopets and Petpets. In general, Zombie pets resemble zombies, with greyish skin, glazed over eyes, and tattered clothing.

Trivia[edit]

 • In the editorial of the Neopian Times issue #85, The Neopets Team said that they would not release a Zombie colour because it would be too similar to Ghost colour. They obviously changed their mind at some point.
 • In the Neopets TCG the Zombie Moltenore card existed long before the colour was ever released. This particular Zombie Moltenore must have been most likely a Moltenore that has risen from the dead instead of being painted Zombie.
