During the events of Neopets: The Darkest Faerie, he was referred to as The Old Knight by Tormund when he was about to be overwhelmed by thieves within Meridell(was called so until finding his true name within the walls of Altador). When Tormund as feeling helpless at what to do during a time of danger for Meridell, it was Altador's words which gave him the courage to fight for the people, and not wait for others to tell him what to do.
Although Tormund assumed the mysterious knight had been killed, he encountered him again in act five, in the city of Altador. King Altador revealed his true identity and explained that the city had never in fact been destroyed, just partitioned from the rest of the world in a bubble of time. He instructed Tor and Roberta to free four of the other founders of the city to dispel the Darkest Faerie's hold over his people. He gave Tormund his sword when he went to find Jerdana in the catacombs of the city.

During Tormund's fight with Gnarfas, Altador knocked the Werelupe to the ground from behind, saying they must escape the danger before it became to great, only too be attacked from behind himself by the Werelupe King.

Altador Plot
During the Altador Plot, users were guided by a series of puzzles to restore the city's history, which had been concealed by Jerdana to prevent the Darkest Faerie rewriting it with herself as sole founder. These puzzles involved finding constellations representing each of the twelve founding heroes. King Altador's constellation, representing a bow and arrow, was the last to be found. It was released on 1 June 2006.

The clue to his constellation is found in two parts in the Hall of Heroes. The first part is found by looking down on the Hall from the observatory, the second part is found on the outside of the ceiling. The two clues must be lined up by jamming the ceiling mechanism so that the covering stays partially open. This involves obtaining three rocks from the Perfectly Flat Rock Quarry and finding the correct gears to jam.

The Book of Ages reveals details of how Altador came to found the city. When he was young he lived in a city run by corrupt leaders, and he went travelling to try and find a better home for his neighbours. Every city he came across he heard of tales of corruption, until he discovered a fertile plain just perfect for building a city. He resolved to create a city of virtue and honesty, and sought out tales of great deeds to find other heroes who would uphold ideals of what is just and not just what is easy.

After finding eleven other heroes who shared his dream, he gathered up people unhappy with the corrupt cities and united them all to build the city. King Altador himself did his share of construction, and insisted the city be built by hand, not magic, so that all his people valued it. He and the other councillors were blessed with longevity by Siyana to continue ruling the city well.

Listening to Hanso's description of Hubrid Nox casting a spell, Altador and the heroes travelled to the Haunted Woods to confront him. When Xandra set off the alarm, he and the others were trapped in the castle until Hanso and Brynn were able to free them.

Afterwards, they witness Faerieland descending and Altador suggested that the Faeries' condition was adversely affecting the city. They were set upon by shadowy wraiths, but Altador realised they were distracting them from investigating Faerieland. Brynn, Hanso and Xandra left the group to research the situation, while Altador and the others remained in the Haunted Woods to fight the monsters.

They were still there when Byrnn, Hanso, and Xandra returned with the second Faerie artefact. Altador and the others kept back the tide of monsters while Brynn, Hanso and Xandra worked on a ritual using the second artefact to reverse the curse. In fact, Xandra was using the artefact to accelerate Faerieland's fall, and was in fact responsible for the curse to begin with. She turned Altador and the others to stone as well.

Altador was restored when Hanso was able to turn Xandra to stone. He and his guards returned to his kingdom to see if it had been harmed by the events of the plot, and he later set off on a quest to recover the statue of the Darkest Faerie, which had disappeared during the plot.

Altador, The Hunter

King Altador (also known as The Hunter) is a noble White Lupe, an accomplished hero, and one of the twelve founders of Altador, the kingdom that bears his name. He is humble and sincere, with a lifetime of heroic deeds behind him.

When he was young, Altador dreamed of a city with good and just leaders - when he could not find one, he gathered eleven fellow heroes to create his own. After the Darkest Faerie's betrayal, the kingdom was isolated from the rest of Neopia in a bubble of slow time, but Altador was still able to aid Tormund in Meridell when she broke free of her imprisonment a thousand years later.

He was part of the band of heroes investigating the curse that petrified all the Faeries at the Faerie Festival during The Faeries' Ruin, and after the curse was lifted he went on a quest to recover the Darkest Faerie statue.
