It's a universal platitude about Lennies that their minds work so quickly, they can never keep up with their own thoughts. There is also the old fable about the Lenny who thought so much faster than he talked that halfway through his sentences he would second-guess his own logic and begin to argue with himself. Though Lennies are greatly offended by these sentiments, they aren't entirely without merit. The avian [[Neopet|Neopets]], hailing from the [[Lost Desert]], are perhaps [[Neopia]]'s most intelligent species, but they are often too overwhelmed by the rush of their own ideas to speak. Hence there is a stereotype of Lennies as flustered, prattling individuals -- the "reclusive eccentric" caricature manifest in an entire species. But when Lennies manage to keep their heads straight, their innate genius can serve in staggering ways; indeed, more Lennies have become historically famous philosophers and mathematicians than any other Neopet, and only the [[Koi]] have surpassed them in the field of inventing. Lennies also have a strong affinity for magic (although not as much as, for instance, the [[Aisha]] or [[Kau]]) and have made many famous and infamous mages throughout Neopian history.

The Lenny is a bird-like Neopet similar to the Stork or Flamingo (and Peafowl when coloured Faerie). One of the original Neopets released on the site, the Lenny is a highly intelligent and curious bird and perhaps Neopia's most intelligent species, as made apparent by such Lennies as the Conundrum Lenny and Finneus. They can master many forms of magic and use their cunning to outwit any opponent. Lennies can fly, but their wings can only carry them short distances, and usually only to a hover. Despite the fact they have been around since the creation of Neopets, they are the least popular Neopet not Limited Edition and have a smaller growth ratio in comparison to even newer Neopets.
