A Mote is a small being of magical energy taking a specific elemental or environmental form. They tend to be breakable Battledome items with low offensive or defensive power.
General Overview
Motes are items categorized under Brightvale Motes. Motes were originally categorized as Magic Items, but this changed on (need date). Though they are considered items, they are living, a fact all the more true from the Book The Water Mote, which tells the tale of a Water Mote. As of November 2007, there are the following Motes:

Although called a Magic Item, a Nova is considered a Mote due to it's ability to hold all elements of magic within it, and not just a single one as regular Motes (a fact established in Neopets: The Darkest Faerie).
Novas also come in different forms, having a different degree of power in each incarnation. These are...

All Novas (except Grey and Christmas, which have shown no magic) can be used to power Battledome Equipment, some of which are credited to be the most amazing in the Battledome. All Novas (except Grey and Christmas) have a wand (which produces 2 of the nova) and a rod (which produces 3 of the nova).
