Battledome section to be filled, possibly some reworking to be carried out.

Balthazar is a Lupe bounty hunter who captures Faeries with magical bottles, selling them for huge profits. Balthazar was abandoned by his family on the edge of the Haunted Woods as a child. He crawled through the twisted forest hungry and thirsty until he came upon a clearing where the purple lights of Dark Faeries could be seen. Asking for help, they laughed started picking up stones and twigs, throwing them at Balthazar as he ran away yelping and crying. He somehow managed to survive in the woods after living many years alone, and he never forgot what the Faeries did to him that day.

It was believed Balthazar cast a spell with the Spider Grundo and Hubrid Nox (despite the fact they would never work together) which kept the sun up over the Haunted Woods. When Rohane and party come upon Balthazar at his grove, they find it bright and cheery unlike the rest of the Haunted Woods, and find Balthazar actually liking the presence of Faeries. After visiting The Brain Tree, Rohane finds out The Four Faeries which Balthazar claims are his friends placed a curse on him, and needed to be defeated.

After killing the Faeries, Balthazar and his grove return to normal, and assumes Hubrid Nox is behind his and the Spider Grundo's curse. When Rohane asked why he didn't come with them, he said he needed to take a bath to wash the smell of Faerie off him.

Trivia

  • As of December 2006, Balthazar is featured in 12 different items, one of which is called Circlet of the Air Faerie, which is said to have been stolen by Balthazar long ago.
  • Balthazar will sometimes decide to put 100 Faeries in the Money Tree, called Balthazar's Mega Faerie Giveaway Bonanza.
  • Balthazar is one of the few villains whose Gallery of Evil image is coloured.
  • Balthasar or Balthazar is the name often attributed to one of the anonymous Biblical Magi. The Magi, or The Three Wise Men, visited the baby Jesus bearing gifts. Balthazar may have been named so as an ironic reference to this. It is also noted as an alternate form of a Babylonian king called Belshazzar, and Balthasar was the manservant of Romeo in the Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet.
