Now I didn't send tonnes of scores, but that's because I didn't have enough time between school show and other life stuff, and I'm sure there are other people who are in the same position. A condition for getting prizes should be that you've sent away at least 3 scores, but that's it.

You honestly think it's fair that someone who picked Haunted Woods in round 1 --due to just a lucky guess, not any kind of skill or intelligence -- and then played 10 games total, should get a much better prize than someone who played 300 games every single round? I don't agree with that at all. Someone who wasted hours of his or her life playing that stupid game deserves a better prize than someone who was like "OMG SPOOKY WORLD WEREWOLF YAY!"

I think it'll probably be a points system, like Daze suggested. You'll get a bonus if you guessed the winning team back at the beginning, but the actual points from playing will make up the bulk of most people's scores, so someone on Darigan who sent tons and tons of scores will still be able to get a great prize. That makes a lot of sense. It's like the LDP, where everyone who finished got a base amount of points and those of us who were among the first to do something got bonuses and better trophies.

I hope there will be specific items that each team can choose from, if its a points system.

Like only Haunted Woods players will have access to all prizes while the other players can't get Prize A or B.

Otherwise what's the difference between being on the winning team and the second place team if all you had to do was play enough and you can get a top prize along with the winning team?

Sat Jul 08, 2006 3:07 am

I have to agree with Cranberry. Why should I get the top prize for contributing a mere 12 games to HW (ignore the fact that I only played the final round with them :P )?

I only played 53 games total (I really didn't like this game). I think my average score per game was a 7 or 8, so hopefully that will count for something, but I'm honestly not expecting much.

I also hope there'll be team-specific items: maybe I'll actually get something related to Terror Mountain. :)

I agree with Cran as well. Just because you play the "I have a life card" or the "I was busy" card and you just got lucky picking the right team formthe start. You odn't desrve a better prize then someone who played that stupid game over 50+ times.
Just because you squeeked in 3 scoes shouldn't mean zip. 3 scores...and there was 4 rounds. Yeah, no prize for you, but here's a keychain.

I know I didn't do my best, so I don't expect a glorious prize and really, I odn't care what I get. I was on the winning team, at the end, but still, I still say those who worked hard each round and better then slackers/"I have a life" people deserve tons better. =/
Wars and puzzles don't care if you got a life, so why should this one?
Puzzles are a bit nicer, but you don't get top prize, that's for sure.

I'm not expecting a huge prize for my participation. The game was kind of hard for me to catch interest on, so playing Darigan all the way through, I got a total of about 13 games in.

Sorry for being such a poor player. The cup overall was fun to play, and I give Haunted Woods their congratulations.

Sat Jul 08, 2006 6:37 am

Practically speaking, two parts of the cup tourney are purely luck/guess. The staff Tourney and the Awards system guessing. It would be redundant to have a big difference in prizes due to 'luck of the draw' team choices.

Team loyalty rewards would be nice for those who stuck with one team until they no longer could, but they should not be a main prize either. I have yet to decide on the issue of 'my team won this round, I should get more.' philosophies because that is really unrelated to one's individual performance as well.

Actually, I think you'll find that I didn't say that I only sent away 3 scores. I didn't. I sent away about 25-30 scores.

And what I'm saying is that whatever team you picked should give you your prize. If you chose Darigan, then you lost, no two ways about it, you lost. And because they lost and the Haunted Woods won, the Haunted Woods should logically get better prizes than Darigan. If the roles were reversed then I would think the same about Darigan getting prizes.

And if you read my post, you would see that I'm not saying that thosepeople who switched to HW in the final 2 rounds should get the top prize. The people who joined at the start should get it.

How about this table, would this make you all feel better?:

1) HW supporters from the start
2) HW supporters from Round 2
3) HW supperters from Round 3/Darigan supporters from start
4) HW supporters from Finals/Darigan supporters from Round 2
5) Darigan supporters from Round 3
6) Darigan supporters from Finals

News is up, and there are voting options available for some things. Kinda random. I have no clue where to start, so I might aswell just vote for random ones... o.o;; Or just Darigan Citadel players for all of them. That way, at least one's gotta be right, huh?
Okay... so maybe I can't do that. Well, let's see if I get anything. Hehe.

Sat Jul 08, 2006 7:59 am

I'm just hoping for a decent trophy from all of this. I'm slightly annoyed that my chances of getting loads of scores were curbed by factors outside of my control- rounds played on the weekends, when the majority of my A level exams were on Mondays and Tuesdays? No thanks- but I sent over 100 scores in total, so I hope that's enough for a nice little memento or two.

Sat Jul 08, 2006 11:55 am

I voted fairly randomly, with as much haunted woods and darigan citadel as possible.

Sat Jul 08, 2006 1:30 pm

I reckon they'll do it using a point system.

For example:

2 points for every round that you were in the winning team for.
1 point for every round you were in the 2nd place team for.
2 points for every game you won.
0.5 points for every point you scored.
-0.5 for every point scored against you.

That sounds fair. Maybe give a bigger advantage for being on the winning team, like giving 20 points to HW and 10 to Darigan...
And they should give points for sticking to your team between rounds and not changing towards the one who looked like a winner :P but that's just me.
