Can you be a little more specific? Which tool are you using to try and add the star? Are you sure you haven't accidentally selected another star somewhere else?

Where did the url : neopets.com/altador/astro.phtml?get_star_data=1
come from? I got it here at PPT, but what about if you didn't find it here, would the average player be able to find it- that is someone who isn't really familiar with coding?

If you can't put the last star did you click the insert star option? If you really can't insert the star, it must not be the right place. I tried about 6 that really looked right before I found the right one.

I don't know what exactly you are doing, but here's the steps I have done:

1) make sure nothing it currently selected (click on "delete all")
2) select one star of the five to connect and link it directly to the first in line
3) select the star you've drawn a link to and link it to the next one
4) do this for all the five stars
5) click the "add star" button and then select the bottom star
6) now the "submit" button should pop up...

I don't think the averate neopian is supposed to find this thing :) I think it was found through checking the browser's cache... But well, "normal" neopets users would probably just have to use the telescope and won't be able to view their entire sky in one time...

No, I always delete all stars before I start another constellation. Do I use an existing star or do I draw one in......... that's the question.

Maybe, maybe not. I believe it was initially found by looking in the browser cache. It's also possible to have spotted it in the flash file, but you'd at least have to know enough to know how to decompile flash. Once you've done that, though, a url is pretty easy to pick out in the middle of a bunch of code, even if you don't understand the code itself.

I already found both of my constellations thus far, but I was wondering aobut something. Some people are using these templates to help locate their constellations...how did you use those? I don't understand how to get the little picture on the star mapper thing...or did you somehow save your data into a paint program or something? I'm confused! hehe, but not overly confused to the point of frustration...lol

Hmm. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by drawing one in. Perhaps it's some confusion relating to the "Add Star" tool? If so, that just selects an existing star to be a part of your constellation without drawing a line, and that's what you'll need to use to get the bottom star in the second constellation. It doesn't actually add a new star to the sky. If that's not it, can you break down exactly what you are doing in detail? That should help us figure out what's happening. (=

And pinkflamingonewsgirl, the picture on the star mapper should be one you can drag around. You just move it until it lines up with your stars. Personally, I've been pasting mine into a graphics program after taking a screenshot of the star mapper and doing it there, but you can go either way. Some people also take the star data and put it into excel. Instructions for using the star mapper and excel should be linked from the first post. If those aren't complete enough, please let me know and I'll make sure all the necessary information is added.

fillerbunny, can you send me your star data in a private message? (To do that, you can just click the little button below this post that says "PM" on it.) That would make it easier for me to look for it. It's also still possible that one of your steps didn't "take", so to speak, and the system is not aware that you've unlocked the correct star data. That's happened to several people. While we look, you may want to go back over every step carefully, making sure that the page has fully loaded and that you're always clicking something on the page to go somewhere rather than using back and forward buttons in your browser or a bookmark or anything like that.

Thank you for the answer to my question about the code. I am relieved that I wasn't missing something that I should have seen. And I really appreciate the code being found and shared.

Pjlollyluck - are you asking if you have to draw in another star? The answer to this would be "no" you use an existing star. The add star option just lets you add one without linking it to the others.

Are you sure you've followed ALL the steps outlined in the first post on this thread? Because that really, really doesn't look like you have the correct star data to start locating constellations.

Signature, eh? We'll see about that...

You won't be able to find your first constellation, cause you are still using the old map... To get your new map, make sure to first visit the lenny at the archives and the people at the astrology club after you've been to the tomb...

Thank you iconoplast,
That answers my question exactly......... I was trying to add a new star to the constellation...... good to know that I'm supposed to use an "existing" star. Thanks again.............. I feel soooooooo dumb!!!! :)

xxfillerbunnyxx..... try getting the map again.....

First go here:
http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.ph ... tar_data=1

It may take a few moments to load. You will get a script.

Copy and paste that in the box here:
http://www.boomspeed.com/zaniam/theSky.html

Then you will get the complete image of your sky.
