UGH! Finished with my 2nd crystal scrolls. I just love going from Selected Royal Works (yes, I had one on the 5th level) to Anubis Toxicology... *twitch* I wish I were joking. I did get lucky though in that my last four were all right next to each other on level 1.

And yet this, it appears, is scarcely the beginning of pulling out my hair and gouging out my eyes.

I can see it now:

Congratulations!

Congratulations, yourusernamehere, you have solved the plot, rescued Amira, uncursed Jazan, and watched a Kyrii get freaky wi-- err, we mean fall in love with an Ixi. You have won 1,000 NP, an avatar, and a "I Solved the Plot and All I Got Was This Brain Tumor" T-Shirt."

The avatar will be obtainable by everyone, of course, by clicking a link, and the T-Shirt will be no-sale, no-trade and will disappear if you put it in your SDB.

Edit: Can you read adn decipher your white scrolls without getting jelly-trapped?

:o :roflol: :roflol:
That would so be my luck if that really happened XD Oh geez I needed that bit of humor...I felt like my eye was gonna twitch out of it's socket with this plot....So far yet so close and it's only the beginning >_>

For those working on getting the 4th crystal, you may find this of help. The order in which you need to read the scrolls seems to be random, so by being systematic you can find the right scroll in a maximum of 10 steps each -- read in the pattern of:

Y - B - R - Y - B - Y - R - B - Y

Stop with this sequence as soon as you get your room message, and look for the white scroll there. This sequence covers every possible order of blue, yellow, and red, however.

does that actually work as opposed to reading them like this?

ryb, rby, byr, bry, ybr, yrb

Doubletee your method will save alot of time but does it really work, I just read the 10 and somewhere in there the message will come up telling me the white scroll location?

SS:)

Each of the 6 possible orders of reading the scroll are present within a 9 scroll sequence. Check them! :D

Sound theory, but that sequence won't work. It has YBY and no YRB

keisbuddy: Yes I agree the mods might want to use the actual phrase Card Catalog or even just Catalog instead of the seemingly abbreviated word "direct" for directory?

WyldOne: Double check, if it is not too big a room and you think you were careful, then try the OTHER primary color of that pair first. The First Post suggests Catalog color order sequence, but I think it is variable.

In case anyone is wondering, this is what the new crystal looks like:

I'm off to bed now for a well-deserved five-hours sleep, cause that's when my lights are back on :P See you all then, good luck on getting your fourth crystal and figuring out the rest of this plot, I know you'll be able to do so, most probably before I've even turned off the computer :)

good grief, i'm gone one day and there's already a fourth crystal???? how long can this last?

i need some help with my third crystal...this color thing is confusing, especially after reading some of the other posts. here are my colors:

first crystal: BxBBBYYxRRRYRYxx
second: BxGPGYOxRRPOOOxx

so do i "subtract" colors? this would make my new set xxYRYxRxxxBRYRxx
or do i break down the second colors into just primaries and ignore the first set: BxBYBRBYYYRxRRBRYRYRYRxx

from the first post it sounds like i do this second suggestion, but that makes twenty colors, and i only have sixteen tablet pieces, excluding blanks.

and which locations do i go to? the ones in order of the catalog still? and which scroll do i read? the same as the catalog (i.e. if the room is a blue set, do i read the blue set scroll)?

i think my new favorite color is black....easy, simple black......

I've been meaning to say this for a bit now. I've been trying to map my temple traps. One of the last was a sand trap. I thought it was pretty funny going around the repository, reading scrolls with a giant pile of sand. Just sharing.

I'm actually finding it handy. When I read a scroll and my pet is no longer sand, I know I can go back and try again to find a puzzle trap for if I ever make it through all this random order scroll reading.

Ok, before I go to bed, a quick summary:

You just match the colours to your tablet as they are on your wall right now (including blanks and secondary). Then you just throw away the blanks and the primary colours. This way you'll keep 8 symbols with each a secondary colour. Now you put these in reversed order (so the last one on your tablet goes first now). When you've done this, break down every secondary (for example: purple = blue + red). Then go to your directory, look up both the red and blue one of this symbol and then go to your repository and read both the blue and red one of this symbol (in the order of your directories, so if they're yellow-blue-red, then read first blue, then red). When you've read both, this will give you a location in the repository. Go here and read the secondary-coloured scroll there.

I hope this is clear enough...

Yay! I've finally got my fourth crystal! *does a sleepy dance*
Which doubly confirms that no light seeing is needed. Trecking all the way up from the basement back to the special light room, I discovered that unfortunately my lights are not on. Hope you guys have figured out what to do with the fourth by the time I wake up. . .

I'm not saying it isn't helpful, I just think a giant pile of sand reading scrolls is funny. It is like a custard pet leaving footprints around the temple/repository or finger marks on the scrolls. It is all about thinking about the goofy interactions we would have.

Edit: Dang! The next trap after this was a puzzle. I have yet to find a gas trap or an evil jelly blob.
