Hmm... if you do so, you might want to immediately self freeze the old account. It's risky business transferring anything though.

It would look suspicious, but if you use this link to delete the original account afterwards, I don't think they would freeze you. Only having two active accounts that you play on and share items with or funnel money from one into another numerous times. It would be a risk. Would having a different username be worth it?

Also, I would not log on and off between the two of them while transfering.

Since it basically freezes your account, it can't be used to sign up again.

I've done that a couple of times, and never been frozen. basically just used trading post to transfer a whole bunch of items at once (like 10 trades). The value of the items was usually under 500k altogether though, and I frequently switch between accounts, so maybe that had something to do with it. I can't say how safe it is but it's worked fine for me so far.

If you have two different browsers. Explorer and netscape or firefox then you can be logged into two different accounts together. And operate them both at the same time from the one computer. It's quite a handy tip if you have multiple family members who like to play neopets. They can play together and challenge each other.

Yes, that works. However, that doesn't solve the problem of both browsers having the same IP address. Neopets could freeze for that. I believe that Morningstar had an experience and all of th eacounts on the same IP were frozen until she sent a letter to the Neopets staff.

If you're closing an account and want to start a new one, I suggest writing to Support to let them know what your plans are and that the other account will be deleted by you.

ccy, I always thought that no matter what the browser, your IP would be the same! (is techie challenged)

I heard if you unplug your modem for about 10 minutes and plug it back in, you get a new IP adress, never tried it though :battar:

I've transferred items about five times, and I've never been caught. (I hope I never will be.) I haven't many stories of being frozen for doing that. But to be on the safe side, so self-freeze.

Did you exchange NP from account to account or just items?

When more than one family member plays neopets they are going to have the same IP no matter what. So that's a risk you just have to take. It's against the rules to share an account so what option do you have when there is only one family computer? Also don't forget that many ISP's share out IP numbers so you can be sharing your IP with numerous other users over the course of a day. And if Neopets take it into their mind to freeze you for whatever reason they can and will. You cannot prove to them how many family members you have or that they only play on their own individual account. It's impossible.

Nope, not me. I have never (*knocks on all the wood she can find*) been frozen--yet, that is. My daughter and husband were, but at different times, for different reasons--none of which involved multiple accounts or multiple browsers.

However, since I have multiple accounts, I have lots of suggestions. I have created a main account and then later created a new main account, which meant the old main account became my secondary account--and I never, ever had a problem. However, I never did a huge transfer of nps or items from the one account to the other. I basically left the original main account as it was--same pets, same nps, same shop--just stopped doing freebies and games. And created the new account from scratch.

At the time, I posted on the user lookup what I was doing and why I was doing it--just in case, the Neo team was wondering why there was a new account. Basically, I did it because my husband's account had just been frozen for allegedly cheating at flash games--so had a bunch of other people--and I didn't want to lose the painted pets and tons of nps I had on my old main account to a glitch like that. So, I created an account just to play games on and get freebies. That way, if it was frozen for a stupid reason, I wouldn't lose too much.

The two accounts are now basically self-sufficient. I rarely transfer items/points from one to the other. The secondary account maintains enough income just from the sales I do in my shop. I don't restock on that account (shoot, I don't restock on either account--I hate restocking)--but I do resell on that account. And, I resell on my main account. But, if I am shop wiz banned on the one account, I don't come to the other account to surf the shop wiz. I figure, even if it isn't in writing, it is a no-no.

And, every so often, the secondary account has enough nps to be able to buy a plushie for my plushie gallery. So, I have that account buy the plushie and send it to my gallery. But, usually, it is the main account that does the plushie buying.

So, far it hasn't been a problem--and it's been 1-1/2 years since I did so. I figure that if I paid for the shop on the old account, I ought to be allowed to use it to sell items in. And, that's pretty much all I use the account for--that and to hold some really awesome painted pets. The new main account is bigger and "badder" than the old main account ever was (except I absolutely refuse to make a big shop), but I love that old account--love the name, love the pets, love the petpets--so I would never self-freeze it.

Well, I was just on the site for awhile, training my pet, stopped to lurk on the BD. 3 people frozen tonight and one was frozen for trying to transfer a large sum of np from one account to another so he could set up a "mall".

Now, I've sent np to my other account - for the support of that account: upgrading shop size for my gallery mainly. I also buy on my main and send items, food, etc. to my gallery using the tp. I never send more than enough for 1 or 2 shop upgrades, np wise (well under 100k).

This is not the time to be transferring big items, alot of np to other accounts. There's too many freezings going on. I don't know if it's a bot, a monitor being very "to the letter" or what. But if you're going to close one account and start a new one, I strongly suggest writing in and letting TNT know what you're doing and also put something on your lookups saying what you're doing. Not that I really think the monitors read anyone's lookup, to be honest.

I want to basically redo my gallery. There's one uber uber expensive item I want for it, then I think 4 expensive, but under a million np items. Everything else I want out (gallery has over 300 items - it's too much!). So some things would be sold on the gallery account to buy the things I want, but then there's the rest of the stuff.

My Problem? I bought everything on my main and sent them over to the gallery. Now I'm not sure if I can send any of the "UB" things (3 pb - ghost, shadow, halloween and some other expensive stuff) back to my main. Yes, I'd be selling/trading them - to get good weapons and for training my pet. Not to get loads of np. And I'm not sure if even just selling/trading the things on the gallery account to get the other things I want for that gallery would be considered trying to "multi". That's not my intent.
