I dont understand whats so rude about it? Were just telling the truth. Saying she can't sing doesnt mean I'm being rude I'm just stating a fact.

Its not a fact, it is an opinion.

Its rude because its being stated in a way that could offend people. I'm not saying you have to run around going,"ASHLEE IS SOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOL!" but you could say you don't like her in a polite and respectful manner such as,"In my opinion, I really don't think she can sing that good, but that's me."

If you say,"Ashlee sucks." you are bound to upset someone, one way or another. And in the end, it hurts people. Its not fun to be hurt. *nod*

Ah... good old Ashlip Syncson.

I agree that there are more respectful ways of saying she isn't the best singer.
However, would it be an opinion to say that she never would have gotten a record contract if not for her sister's fame?
Speaking as someone that went through voice lessons, I will say that although her voice isn't bad, there is 0 special with her. Average mediocrity is not to be confused with talent.
Also as someone whose best friend is a singer with acid reflux, let me just say that it is not an issue of just plum getting tuckered out. You're not going to be peachy coo in the morning and bad in the afternoon only to be ready to sing the next day. It doesn't work that way so I have no shame in saying that she is a bold faced liar.

I didn't see it live, but I caught a video of it on the internet. It was so obvious she was lypsincing, yet people decide that the band just played the wrong song, just because they're her fans. I think for her to go out and blame it on her band was wrong, and I really hope she apologizes for that. I would gain a little more respect for her.

That's her philosophy then. When in doubt, do a ho-down. Ah, genius!

i wonder how many of your favorite teeniy bopping all stars can actually sing?
you dont have to like her style, but saying she cant sing isnt on.
call her what you will, but never dispute someones trade, unless you personally can do what she can.
and unless you all have multi million dollar record deals then you havnt.

If someone's opinion is that she can't sing, then that's that. If that's what they think, let them think that. If you have a different opinion then don't go around telling them they're not allowed to say she can't sing, even if that's what they believe.

Right. Multi-million dollar record deals. Ok. So, anyone who has a record deal can automaticly sing.

Not in this world.

People get record deals for being attractve, having 'attitude' and being appealing, even if they can't sing 100%.

Ever heard The Streets? -He- hardly sings, and in my opinion sounds like a strangled cat when he does, but he's got a record contract. It's what sells in this world, not what's good. Otherwise loads of talented people would be care-free and famous.

Dunno if you've seen this or not, found the link on my friend's xanga, it's a bit longer than the one posted, it actually has the review type of thing. She said, "but my band play the wrong song" and stuff like that ._. Oh well.

Video clip

I'm sure I can dance better than that. :battar:

I need to use that after I'm done with Ashlip Syncson.

My dad sent me that clip awhile ago.... Only after Jude Law said 'Now thats what I call live tv' I realized he was also the one who intorduced her
And Ashlee acting like what happened was no big deal...

Wow.. people who have nothing else to do but bash other people... You could state your "opinion" but just say it in a polite way...

Anyways, watch 60 minutes tomorrow (Sunday Night) and there's the proof that she did get sick. They were taping the rehearsals and what happened after the infamous ho-down...

I don't think I said anything impolite about her... But anyway...
I don't have 60 minutes here, but you mentioning brought me to do some research...

CBSNEWS website wrote:
Her father Joe Simpson, who manages the careers of both Ashlee and her older sister Jessica Simpson, said it was his decision to use the pre-recorded music, called backing tracks, for vocal support when it became apparent during dress rehearsals that acid reflux disease had swollen Ashlee's vocal cords.

Simpson ran off the stage when her voice began to fail her then, too, and Stahl and her cameras captured the moment, which turned out to be a preview of what later unfolded on live television.

The singer said the glitch occurred when her drummer hit the wrong switch and cued the wrong music track. She also said it was the first time she had ever used a backing track.

This is all in relation about whats going to be shown on 60 minutes tommorow....
1. Her dad is taking the blame.
2. I guess thats why she was always looking at the drummer... Maybe he was the one who had to press the tape button.
3. Does anyone buy this??

I didn't mean to sound like I'm talking to you so sorry for that and I actually buy it.

Although I'm still not sure with a few things its either a very good cover-up or the truth.

I knew about the acid reflux stuff for a while. That HURTS. Her father played her cd in the background to guide her. Sure...lip synching is bad and all, but most every pop star has done it at some time, so you shouldn't hate Ashlee for it. I still like her. She has a real voice, and not a fake computer-manufactured one like Hilary Duff.

not what i said and you know it.
everyone with a multi-million dollar deal is succesful.
you dont have one.
you arent a record companie manager.
thusly, as far as music is concerned you dont know much (as far as the industry is concerned that is)
dont take this as a personal attack, im just pointing out its not your decision, she makes money, her record companie doesnt care what anyone thinks so long as she makes money and abides by their personal philosiphies. (by the way i know this because my sister works for a record companie in london)
its like the old saying "only the insane have strength enough to prosper, only those who prosper judge what is sane"

Setekh, stop being a prat.
You can't say it's wrong for someone to say Ashlee Simpson can't sing. You'd have more of an argument if it was someone like Dido or Norah Jones (neither of whom I'm very fond of) because although their music might be a bit pants, you can't deny they have good singing voices when you hear them live.
Even then, you can't really contest it. Stop mouthing off because people have opinions, you certainly have enough of your own.
