The National Neopian Bank is the center of all commerce within all Neopia. Residing within Neopia Central, all Neopets and users keep their Neopoints safely placed within this banks secure storage safes. Users who have a certain number of NP placed within their walls have a special interest rate they can place on their stored money, netting them a yearly interest.

Originally, the National Neopian worked like a real bank, and users could take out loans as of March 21, 2000. Accounts began to be debited on March 23, 2000, taking an ammount of NP each day. On May 20, 2000, this feature was taken away and never came back because too many users were abusing the system.
