The Meepit is a pink Spooky Petpet released on (need date) with large unblinking black eyes, short front limbs, stout bodies, and large hind feet. While seemingly innocent, many Neopians find something scary about their eyes. Because of this fear, they are accused of being associated with Dr. Sloth and trying to take over Neopia but unknown if this is fact or an inside joke of The Neopets Team. However, The Meepit was originally introduced on October 15, 2001 in NeoQuest I, called a Pygmy, which collectivly were a tribe of ferocious creatures which took over a research center. This is the only time their evil nature has been revealed, and may be the source of Neopians fear.
