Faerie abilities are acquired cumulatively - meaning that in order for a pet at level 9 to get the Haste ability, it must be blessed by an [[Air Faerie]] three times. To release the faerie from the bottle, the item must be in the player's inventory. The drop-down menu will offer the option for the active Neopet to be blessed by the faerie. Only if the pet's level is high enough will it gain a new ability, otherwise the faerie will simply fly away.
