Thanks for a brilliant and inripsing opening night with words of gravity, wit and abuse from John Bird who has the power to paint pictures & analyse history with broad engaging statements. We may agree or not but his honesty is refreshing and reassuring in this truly stagnated and threatening political environment.Richard's remarks as Chair of the Festival were to emphasise the theme of community among other things. Between them the message was loud and clear we have an opportunity to really make changes from the deepest part of our selves and within our communities. I look forward to the continuation and development of this celebration in the future there are many ways to explore Orwell's themes where there is hope we have a chance. | |||
