Official Petpet Park logo

Petpet Park is created by the Petpet Protection League as a place to train and care for Petpets. Not much is known about it besides that there is a gracious, welcoming and caring staff currently inhabiting it. The Opening Celebrations began on August 28, 2008.

Players can collect a daily prize and play games during the Opening Celebrations.

Staff

Petpet Park has staff members who have different jobs at the park:

Note: During the beta testing period, a lot of the original Neopet characters that appeared in the introductory Mini-Plot were replaced by petpet characters. It is unclear what future role, if any, the Neopet characters will have in Petpet Park.

Plot summary

A mini-plot based on the Park was released on September 4, 2008 and it was named Operation: Petpet Park. Each of the six missions will involve users accomplishing tasks to safely retrieve a petpet from portals connecting Petaria and Neopia. The plot is available only in English.

Mission 1

Mission 1 was released on September 4, 2008. Players had to go through a maze in the caves of Terror Mountain. If they take a wrong turn, they will encounter Snowbeasts. At the end, they will reach the portal, and retrieve a Drym.

Mission 2

Mission 2 was released on September 9, 2008. To complete this mission, players had to rotate a special stone, called the Moonlight Opal, so that it refracted the moonlight from a nearby window onto three special markings. After all three markings were bathed in moonlight, a portal opened revealing a Hifflo.

Mission 3

Mission 3 was released on September 16, 2008. Yurius has opened numerous portals. The player had to equalize the magnetic field and shut down all the incorrect portals. At the end, the player would find a Pinixy

Mission 4

On Mystery Island, the agents discovered that they had arrived too late. Yurius had already arrived and claimed the Kassegats. He hid them within a temple on the island, behind several traps. However, the agents were able to use quick thinking to overcome them by a moderator named Phil, and rescued the Petpets.

Mission 5

Next, on the hunt for Oukins, the agents were dispatched to the Haunted Woods. Once again, Yurius had managed to get there first, and left yet another cryptic note for the agents. They soon discovered the Oukins, locked within one of the graveyard's tombs.

Mission 6

Finally, the agents were dispatched to Maraqua on the hunt for Dipnis. However, Yurius sprang a trap on the agents, trapping them within a gradually flooding device. Yurius trapped himself within a similar device, and claimed that whoever escaped first was the better PPL agent. As the agents figured out the solution to the keypad lock on the trap, Yurius discovered that his own solution had become damp with the water, and the ink had run. The agents escaped, and agreed to free Yurius rather than let him drown. Yurius meanwhile, had a startling flashback to his entrance exam with the PPL. Then, just as in the trap, he had used a pen instead of a pencil, causing him to be fired. It was this that had caused him to seek revenge. The agents returned both Yurius and the Petpets to Weltrude, and she prepared to open the Petpet Park to the rest of Neopia.

Participation

At the conclusion of each plot comic, users could follow links to complete several puzzles based around locating the Petpets. Unlike in previous plots, there was no time bonus for completing each step quickly.

Unlike in previous plots, no trophies were awarded at the conclusion.

However, prizes were awarded. Users who participated were given access to the Operation: Petpet Park site theme. Users were also awarded a amount of Neopoints based on the number of missions they completed, the maximum being 45,000 Neopoints. Finally, users who participated gained access to a unique wearable item within the Petpet Park game: Park Badge Beanie (shown in the pic up right)

Trivia

  • As of September 2008, there are 6 items featuring each of the 6 new petpets. These items can be obtained from the Toy Chest.
  • The 5th mission makes reference to the Tale of Woe plot when the caretaker gives Mick the shovel he says, "Oh no! More gravedigging! My arms are still tired from a couple of years ago..."
