As with certain Neopets and certain items, over the years, certain Petpets have been redesigned. These designs may include changed both name and form as the drawing techniques and styles of The Neopets Team developed.

Most references to previous Petpet incarnations have been removed from the website, but some still exist in past Caption Competitions and New Features pages. If one of these Petpets - with the exception of the Isnewee (see below) - were attached to a Neopet before the change, they would remain as they were while the rest of the breed changed. Were these to become unattached, they would revert to their current form.
