MAGAX is the Wocky arch-enemy of Hubrid Nox. He is described as older than the trees and the mountains - whether he, as a physical being, is so old, or whether this describes something more spiritual or metaphysical, is unexplored.

He was, for a very long time, one of the most prominent villains of Neopia. For at least some of this time, he was a slave to Hubrid Nox, but he turned from the darkness and became something of an anti-hero, seeking redemption from the Faeries for his crimes.
