Corrupted by the power of the Orb during the first Merdiell vs. Darigan war, his desire for power drove him to plot the destruction of Neopia.
He later surfaced as The Bat-Thing during the second Merdiell vs. Darigan war. Fought Lord Kass and put a stop to the war.
Currently holding a truce with Meridell, which will last 1,000 years.
