Dung referes to items in Neopets which are composed of dung or have dung in them. Very similar to real life manure, making it a controversial Neopets item. Neopets gives no hints as to where is comes from or how it came to be, leaving much to the imagination of its origin.

Although dung is associated with the item Pile of Dung, an item gained from and now made cheap from the game Pick Your Own, it's origins begin back in Tyrannia, years before the finding of Meridell where the game is played.
There is a Pile of Dung item available from the Pick Your Own game, but dung was used earlier than this to make furniture in Tyrannia. Dung is also used in some food and weapons. Dung items can be expensive, and Tyrannian Furniture consists of many dung pieces. There is also dung food and a dung avatar attained from having 10 dung items in a users inventory. To date as of September 2007, there are 83 dung themed items.
As of June 2011, there are 96 dung items.

A Pile of Dung

Dung is a material in Neopia used to make certain items. It is also a colour certain Petpets can be painted.

There is a Pile of Dung item available from the Pick Your Own game, but dung was used earlier than this to make furniture in Tyrannia. Dung is also used in some food and weapons. It is featured in an avatar, attained from having ten dung items in a user's inventory, and in a NeoBoard emoticon.

As of June 2011, there are 96 dung items.

Colour[edit]

Petpets can be painted to look like dung using the Dung Petpet Paint Brush. As of May 2012, a total of 24 Petpets can be painted dung:
