'''Royal''' is one of the many [[colour]]s that users can paint their [[Neopet]]s and [[Petpet]]s. In general, Royal pets are dressed to resemble various traditional royal attire from around the world.
There are many royal characters in Neopia, such as [[King Skarl]] of [[Meridell]] (and his brother, [[King Hagan]] of [[Brightvale]]), [[Princess Fernypoo]], the famed [[Cheat!]] player, and even [[Fyora]], Queen of the [[Faerie]]s. The royal [[uni]] was used in the [[Battle for Meridell]] [[plot]].

The Royal colour for Neopets was released on February 3, 2004.  The only way that a user can change the colour of their Neopets to Royal is by using a ''Royal [[Paint Brush]]'' [[item]] at the [[The Rainbow Pool|Rainbow Pool]].  Royal is one of the few colours that looks different for male and female Neopets.

The Royal Paintbrush can only be bought in the [[Hidden Tower]] for 1,750,000 NP or on the [[Trading Post]] for whatever people are willing to sell it for. This is one of the few [[Paintbrush]]es that gives an entirely different look to your [[Neopet]] depending on its gender.
